Tonight | ABC National Forum on ABC: migration debate takes centre stage as David Speers hosts a live national discussion on migration, multiculturalism and the policy choices shaping Australia’s future.
The forum brings together Minister for Multicultural Affairs Anne Aly, Shadow Minister for Industry and Sovereign Capability Andrew Hastie, and One Nation Treasury spokesman Barnaby Joyce.
Migration remains central to federal politics and cost-of-living debate, with the live forum examining how policy choices affect housing, infrastructure, skills, universities and regional communities.
A national conversation on migration
Speers will lead a discussion with special guests, an in-studio audience and Australians from different walks of life, asking whether the migration system is still working and what it means to be Australian today.
The program also considers Australia’s five-decade commitment to multiculturalism and why a policy area once widely celebrated has become so politically divisive.
ABC National Forum on Migration airs live tonight, Monday 14 September at 8.30pm on ABC and ABC iview.
