Deep End: The Scott Miller Story is a two-part documentary from the ABC News Documentary unit in partnership with Jam TV Australia, charting the dramatic rise and fall of former Olympic swimmer Scott Miller and his ongoing efforts to rebuild his life.
Once regarded as one of Australian sport’s brightest stars, Miller achieved international success, earned Olympic medals and became a household name. However, personal tragedy and mounting pressures would eventually see his life spiral into addiction, crime and imprisonment.
For the first time, Miller speaks candidly about the decisions that changed the course of his life, confronting the choices he made, the impact on those around him and the challenges of finding a way forward.
The opening episode follows Miller’s journey from a promising childhood talent to Olympic success and media celebrity. As the pressures of elite sport intensify and devastating personal loss takes its toll, the documentary examines how his career unravelled and how addiction ultimately consumed his life.
