Bluey’s Auslan Sign & Seek comes to ABC Kids – Families can learn and practise Auslan with Bluey during a two-day ABC Kids event on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October.
Created for National Week of Deaf People 2026, Bluey’s Auslan Sign & Seek combines signed episodes, simple tutorials and a playful seek-and-find activity. The ABC developed the campaign with Deaf Connect so children and parents can learn signs together while watching familiar stories.
The initiative also expands access beyond the weekend. From 3 October, every episode of Bluey will be available with Auslan translation, giving families a permanent way to choose signed versions through ABC iview.
How Bluey’s Auslan Sign & Seek works
The game is narrated by comedian Hamish Blake, who voices Jack’s Dad in Bluey. Viewers will see tutorials showing how to sign selected words and moments connected with episodes including Keepy Uppy, Daddy Robot and Turtleboy.
Special versions of the Bluey theme will then invite families to look for those signs during the episodes. The approach turns accessibility into an activity that hearing, Deaf and hard-of-hearing children can enjoy together.
Bluey marathon times on ABC Kids
ABC Kids will screen Bluey back-to-back from 7.30am to 7.30pm on Saturday 3 October and again from 7.30am to 7.30pm on Sunday 4 October.
Across the weekend, the marathon will include 24 episodes signed in Auslan. The Sign & Seek prompts and tutorials will appear throughout the schedule, allowing viewers to build their vocabulary across the day rather than treating the activity as a one-off lesson.
Every Bluey episode available with Auslan
From 3 October, the ABC’s complete Bluey collection will be available with Auslan translation. That expanded library includes longer-form favourites such as The Sign and Bluey’s Big Play.
ABC iview will also carry a wider collection of Auslan-accessible ABC Kids favourites. The ongoing library means families will not need to rely only on the broadcast marathon to use the signed episodes.
