The Voice secret is out as Team Tones arrives on Channel 7 – The Voice is preparing to reveal its biggest 2026 twist, with Tones And I stepping into the competition as the secret fifth coach behind Team Tones.
The reveal airs this Sunday, 30 August, at 7.00pm on Channel 7 and 7plus, adding a new layer to the Blind Auditions phase and giving a group of second-chance artists another shot at the competition.
For Channel 7, the twist gives The Voice another major Sunday-night hook. It also shifts the season beyond a standard Blind Auditions run, with the existing coaches forced to reassess the competition once they discover another team has been forming away from the main stage.
Team Tones Joins The Competition
Host Sonia Kruger delivers the news to Melanie C, Ronan Keating, Richard Marx and Kate Miller-Heidke, revealing that the Blind Auditions are not finished after all.
Tones And I has assembled a group of second-chance artists, setting up a new battle for the coaches as the competition moves into its next chapter. The release teases that the reveal will leave the established coaching panel spinning as they realise they may have missed potential winners.
The move also gives the artists another route into the series. Instead of being eliminated from contention after missing a chair turn from the four visible coaches, the second-chance team brings them back into the race under a coach who has been watching from the sidelines.
The twist follows a season built around a refreshed coaching line-up, with The Voice again using its Blind Auditions as a launchpad for both new performers and big television moments.
When To Watch The Voice
The Voice continues at 7.00pm Sunday and Monday on Channel 7 and 7plus.
The Sunday episode will reveal Team Tones to the other coaches and begin the next stage of the competition, with the fifth coach now officially part of the season.
