Farmer Wants A Wife delivers biggest season in five years — Seven says Farmer Wants A Wife has delivered its biggest season in five years, with the 2026 season reaching 8.3 million people across Seven and 7plus.
The series attracted an average national total TV audience of 1.27 million, up 22% on last year. Seven also says the season lifted 27% year-on-year among viewers aged 25 to 54.
For Seven, the result gives one of its longest-running reality franchises fresh momentum heading into a busy second half of 2026. It also shows the continued value of established free-to-air brands when audiences can watch across broadcast and streaming.
On 7plus alone, Farmer Wants A Wife recorded an average audience of 419,000, up 84% on 2025. Seven says the result was a record audience for a reality series on 7plus.
Strong run for Seven reality series
The 2026 season followed farmers Alex, Dylan, Jarrad, Jason and Zac as they searched for love. Seven says the program was the number one entertainment show during its six-week run.
The network says Farmer Wants A Wife won its timeslot across total people, viewers aged 25 to 54, and grocery shoppers.
Hosted by Natalie Gruzlewski, the season also grew beyond the broadcast episodes. Seven says fans watched more than 60% more video on social platforms than last series, generating an extra 25 million views.
The network says the younger 18 to 34 audience on social platforms was up close to 60%.
Seven already planning 2027 season
Seven’s Director of Content, Unscripted, Majella Hay, said the season began with high expectations after the show received more applications than any other season.
Hay said audiences became invested in the five farmers and their different paths to love. She also said Eureka Productions is already preparing the next season of Farmer Wants A Wife.
According to Hay, the next season will keep the romance of farm life and the focus on love, while bringing new ideas for fans across Seven, 7plus and social platforms.
Seven National Television Sales Director Katie Finney said the result highlighted the appeal of major entertainment brands and family viewing, as the network prepares for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, the 2026 Rugby League World Cup, The Voice, My Kitchen Rules and the TV WEEK Logie Awards.
Reunion special still to come
The 2026 season is not finished yet. A Farmer Wants A Wife reunion special will air on Seven and 7plus on Sunday, 2 August.
Farmer Wants A Wife is a Fremantle Australia and Eureka Productions co-production for the Seven Network. The series will return to Seven and 7plus in 2027.
