Forgotten Island shares BRB music video by H.E.R. and Liza Soberano – Universal Pictures has released the music video for BRB, the new song from DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island performed by the film’s stars H.E.R. and Liza Soberano.

The release gives audiences another way into the film’s friendship story before Forgotten Island opens in Australian cinemas on Thursday 17 September. The song puts the relationship between lifelong best friends Jo and Raissa at the centre, with H.E.R. and Soberano also voicing the two characters in the animated feature.

Set against the film’s Filipino-inspired world, the music video arrives alongside a behind-the-scenes look at the DreamWorks Animation original and character featurettes introducing Jo and Raissa. It extends the film’s emphasis on friendship, music and the cultural stories that inform its setting of Nakali.

Inside Forgotten Island

Forgotten Island follows high school graduates Jo and Raissa, who have been best friends since grade school but are about to begin separate life paths. On their final night together, they discover a mysterious portal that transports them to Nakali, a fantastical island filled with magical and mythological creatures from the stories their Filipino families shared with them.

There, the pair are joined by the well-meaning but hapless weredog Raww, voiced by Dave Franco, and a small group of allies. Their journey brings them face-to-face with The Dreaded Manananggal, voiced by Lea Salonga, while the memories of their friendship become the price of making it home.

The DreamWorks Animation original is written and directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, with Mark Swift producing. Its voice cast also includes Jenny Slate, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy and Ronny Chieng.

The new song and video give the film’s two leads a chance to express that central friendship away from the adventure itself, while the accompanying featurettes offer a closer introduction to Jo and Raissa before the film reaches Australian cinemas.
