Event Cinemas offers five Movie Saver vouchers for $55, with key exclusions – Event Cinemas is selling a book of five Original Movie Saver Vouchers for $55 from Friday 2 to Monday 5 October 2026. That works out to $11 per voucher before any applicable booking fee or upgrade surcharge. The book must be bought in a cinema, and the vouchers can be used until 11 December 2026.

For moviegoers weighing up the deal, the important distinction is between the purchase window and the redemption rules. The offer is not available to buy online, cannot be redeemed for a Saturday session after 5pm, and is not valid in the ACT, Victoria or Tasmania. Those restrictions matter for a national audience even though the headline price is straightforward.

Event says the promotion is intended for movie nights with friends or family as well as solo visits. Its campaign points to forthcoming titles including Street Fighter, Sense and Sensibility, Clayface, Wildwood, Pressure, Wild Horse Nine, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping and Hexed. That list is promotional, not a promise that every film or session will qualify before the vouchers expire; check the session and the terms before buying.

How to buy and use the five-voucher book

The $55 book contains five Original Movie Saver Vouchers. It is available only for in-cinema purchase between 2 and 5 October. The public promotion page gives the final offer cut-off as 11.59pm AEDT on Monday 5 October 2026. There is no online purchase option for this deal.

Once bought, the vouchers may take up to one hour to activate before they can be redeemed. Their last valid redemption date is 11 December 2026. Online booking fees apply if a voucher is redeemed through the online booking process, so $11 is the effective base price per ticket rather than an unconditional all-in price.

Redemption is limited to Event or BCC Cinemas locations where the offer applies. Event’s terms specifically exclude use in the ACT, Victoria and Tasmania. They also exclude Skyline Drive-in, Moonlight Cinemas, IMAX Sydney and Village Cinemas. The vouchers cannot be used for Saturday screenings after 5pm.

Upgrades cost extra; some sessions are excluded

An upgrade to V-Max, a 3D screening or recliner seating carries a surcharge. Event says that extra amount must be paid when the voucher is redeemed. A customer choosing one of those options should therefore expect to pay more than the $11 base cost.

Other premium formats and session types cannot be booked with these vouchers at all. The exclusions cover Gold Class, Premium Seating concepts, 4DX, ScreenX, IMAX, Boutique, Event Junior, Movie Marathons and Chicks At The Flicks. Group bookings, festivals, alternate content and special events are also excluded.

The practical takeaway is to check the participating cinema, session time and format before purchasing a book. For eligible Original sessions, the five-voucher bundle may be useful for people who expect to visit the cinema repeatedly before 11 December. It is less flexible for those who usually attend Saturday evening sessions, live in an excluded state or prefer premium formats.
