Wallabies go down by one to France in Spring Tour

The Wallabies have suffered a heartbreaking 30-29 loss at the hands of France in their second match of the Spring Tour.

After last week’s one point win over Scotland, the Wallabies came agonisingly close to delivering an upset over hosts France at the Stade de France.

The Wallabies were leading 29-25 with four minutes left in the game, when a missed tackle saw French winger Damian Penaud score in the corner to put his side in front and extend the team’s winning streak to 11 games.

Despite minutes left in the match, the Wallabies had a late chance to close out the game with a win. But a crooked lineout throw and a penalty at the breakdown, ended their hopes for victory.

Midway through the first half the Wallabies were ahead 13-6 courtesy of a sensational try from Lalakai Foketi. Another try courtesy of Jock Campbell combined with strong kicking from Bernard Foley put the Wallabies in with a fighting chance until the end.

They’ll now prepare to take on Italy in Florence next weekend, Saturday 12 November at 11:40pm AEDT.  All the matches of the Spring Tour can be streamed ad-free, live & on demand on Stan Sport.
