Wallabies fall short against Italy in Spring Tour

The Wallabies came agonisingly close to notching up their first win of the Spring Tour overnight, going down by 1 to Italy in Florence, 27-28.

After making 11 changes from the team that fell just short against France last weekend, the new look Wallabies came so close to delivering their first win of the tour.

But the hosts dominated the game from the outset, with fullback Ange Capuozzo and Tommaso Allan scoring a doubles to help their side to victory.

A last ditch attempt from the Wallabies came in the final minutes, with tries to Tom Robertson and Caderyn Neville giving debutant Ben Donaldson a kick to win it after the siren.

His kick drifted away, offering the Italians their first ever win against the Wallabies, the hosts celebrating a breakthrough victory.

They’ll now prepare to take on world number one Ireland at Aviva Stadium next weekend, Sunday 20 November at 7am AEDT.  All the matches of the Spring Tour can be streamed ad-free, live & on demand on Stan Sport.
