Father Brown on ABC – Mrs Devine (Claudie Blakley) is thrilled when her idol, the celebrity florist Octavia Eden (Elaine Paige), returns to her birthplace of Kembleford with her daughter Lizzy (Jasmine Hyde) and niece Noele (Kaye Wragg).
Having recently announced she is dying from a terminal illness, Octavia has set Lizzy and Noele a series of tasks to find out who will inherit her vast fortune.
Starting with a fabulous cocktail party to welcome the locals with Lizzy and Noele competing to make the most elaborate botanical based beverage.
But glamour turns to murder when Mrs Eden’s curmudgeonly neighbour, Mr Mulch (Philip Martin Brown) turns up and promptly drops dead at the event.
Father Brown can’t believe that Mr Mulch’s long suffering wife Marjorie (Rosalind March) can really be guilty of poisoning him and digs into the past to find out the truth, ably assisted by Mrs Devine and Brenda (Ruby-May Martinwood).
