ROUND 14

HIGHLANDERS V REDS
FRIDAY 26 MAY
LIVE & EXCLUSIVE ON STAN SPORT FROM 4:30PM AEST

It’s crunch time for the Highlanders and their hopes of making the Super Rugby Pacific playoffs. The Highlanders have a chance to draw level with the Queensland Reds if they score a win or eclipse them with a bonus point. The opening clash of round 14 could be pivotal in deciding the top eight.

REBELS V FORCE
FRIDAY 26 MAY
LIVE & EXCLUSIVE ON STAN SPORT FROM 7:00PM AEST

The Western Force will be without Tom Robertson after suffering an ACL injury in the team’s triumphant win over the ACT Brumbies. Although down a man, an away win over the Melbourne Rebels would go some way to cementing their spot in the top eight. The Rebels, meanwhile, languish in second-to-last.

FIJIAN DRUA V MOANA PASIFIKA
SATURDAY 27 MAY
LIVE & EXCLUSIVE ON STAN SPORT FROM 11:50AM AEST

The blockbuster clash of round 14 sees the two Pacific teams take each other on. The Fijian Drua have had their top eight chances all but dashed and need a string of results to go their way. That won’t take the shine off what is expected to be a brilliant contest in Lautoka.

CRUSADERS V WARATAHS

SATURDAY 27 MAY
LIVE & EXCLUSIVE ON STAN SPORT FROM 2:05PM AEST

In the midst of a four-week unbeaten streak, an under-strength Waratahs face the top two Crusaders. Several key players are expected to be rested for the clash, but a loss won’t drop the Waratahs any lower on the ladder with two rounds to go.

BLUES V HURRICANES
SATURDAY 27 MAY
LIVE & EXCLUSIVE ON STAN SPORT FROM 4:35PM AEST

The fight for fourth on the ladder between the Blues and Hurricanes could be the defining factor in who gets a home quarter-finals berth. The Blues have the edge by one point and a win could conceivably see them vault to second if the Waratahs pull off an upset win.

BRUMBIES V CHIEFS
SATURDAY 27 MAY
LIVE ON STAN SPORT FROM 7:00PM AEST

After resting a throng of key players in their loss to the Western Force, the ACT Brumbies will look to bounce back against the table-topping Chiefs. With an eight-point margin, the Chiefs can’t lose their lead with a loss while the Brumbies are well-poised to edge ahead of the Crusaders.

RACE
MONDAY 29 MAY
LIVE ON STAN SPORT FROM 1:00AM AEST

It’s not called the ‘Greatest Spectacle In Racing’ for no reason. The Indianapolis 500 is the most iconic race in North America and attracts the largest single-day crowd of any sporting event globally with 350,000 people trackside.

This year’s race will be led by Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou, who took pole position by the most slender margin of 0.001 km/h (0.006 mph) over the course of four laps. The Spaniard is vying to claim a hat trick having won the Indianapolis road course curtain-raiser and pole position for the Indianapolis 500 thus far. He was runner-up in 2022.

Australia’s hopes rest on Will Power’s shoulders, who will look to take his second Indianapolis 500 win from 12th on the grid. The Team Penske pilot won the 2018 edition and remains the only Australian to have claimed the crown.

The two ‘Scotts’ – Dixon and McLaughlin – will represent New Zealand at the Brickyard. Dixon qualified sixth, but has shown supreme race pace in the practice sessions to date. McLaughlin will have to fight from the middle of the pack, starting out of 14th.

Pre-race coverage of the Indianapolis 500 begins at 1:00am on Monday with the green flag falling at 2:30am.
