The Killings: Parish Station on Stan in production – Stan and ITV Studios today announced the cold case crime series, Stan Original The Killings: Parrish Station, produced by HELIUM Pictures and with the support of Screen Australia and Screen NSW, and starring Mia Wasikowska (Stan Original FING!, Alice in Wonderland), is currently in production in NSW.

A cosmic mystery intertwines with horror as a gruesome massacre at a remote research station plunges a detective into an inexplicable, decades-long mystery.

It’s 1987, and Detective Georgia Cooke (Wasikowska) is called in to investigate the massacre of four scientists who have been brutally murdered in inexplicable ways, with a lone survivor the obvious suspect. But as Georgia digs deeper, unravelling a complex case entangled in mania, ritual, and the occult, her obsessive quest for the truth spirals into a nightmare that will put her family, career, and sanity on the line.

37 years later, a chilling new spree of murders will pull Georgia (Heather Mitchell) back into this nightmare as she confronts the terrifying possibility that the horrors at Parrish Station were never fully buried.

Alongside Mia Wasikowska and Heather Mitchell (The Narrow Road to the Deep North, Love Me, Fake), the cast includes Xavier Samuel (Blonde, Elvis), Robert Taylor (Longmire, Stan Original Scrublands), Alan Dale (Stan Original The Assassin, Star Trek: Nemesis, Dynasty), Emma Lung (Stan Original Wolf Like Me, Strife), Doris Younane (Five Bedrooms, Last King of the Cross), Kat Hoyos (Amazing Grace, Here Come The Habibs!), Nic English (Stan Original Ten Pound Poms), Alex Malone (The Royal Hotel), Geoff Morrell (Stan Originals Thou Shalt Not Steal, Wolf Like Me), Rob Carlton (Stan Original Black Snow, Chandon Pictures), Alex Lee (Optics, The Fall Guy), Cameron James (The Role of a Lifetime) and newcomer Grace Owens.

The Killings: Parrish Station is created and written by Ben Jenkins (The Chaser, The Checkout), with writer and story producer Tim Pye (Stan Original Bali 2002), and writers Yolanda Ramke (Cargo), Catherine Smyth-McMullen (The Sandman, The Other Lamb), and directed by Daniel Nettheim (Stan Originals The Tourist and The Assassin).

Executive produced by HELIUM’s Mark Fennessy (Last King of the Cross, Lambs of God) and Stan Executive Producers Donna Chang and Andy Ryan, and produced by Kerrie Mainwaring (Stan Original Bali 2002), the Stan Original series brings together some of Australia’s most acclaimed creative talent.

Nine Entertainment’s Executive Director, Entertainment Content Commissioning, Michael Healy said:

“The Killings: Parrish Station is a striking addition to the Stan Originals slate, a bold and distinctive series that pushes the boundaries of Australian drama. It is a testament to creative storytelling at its best, led by the visionary creator Ben Jenkins, who has masterfully woven together a cosmic-horror-meets-cold-case tale. The series captures the very essence of creative edge and originality that defines Stan’s commitment to groundbreaking content and marks our first collaboration with HELIUM, whose creative vision has been invaluable in bringing this project to life.”

HELIUM’s Executive Producer Mark Fennessy said:

“We’re incredibly proud of this haunting and deeply human story — a gripping, time-spanning thriller with compelling female leads told across two timelines with the scale and suspense of True Detective and the bite of Yellowjackets. Set against the vast emptiness of the Outback, it’s a tale about what we bury, what we choose to forget, and what refuses to stay hidden.”

EVP, Global Content for ITV Studios, Julie Meldal-Johnsen, said:

“We’re delighted to bring the thrilling and evocative The Killings: Parrish Station to international audiences, working with our partners at HELIUM and Stan. The scripts are some of the finest we have read – smart, shocking, and suspenseful with raw human emotion – and now brought to life by an acclaimed cast and crew.”

Screen Australia Director of Narrative Content Louise Gough said:

“Known for his comedy podcasting, creator Ben Jenkins demonstrates his versatility as a storyteller with his first foray into television drama. Together with the experienced team at HELIUM Pictures, they’ve crafted a clever supernatural mystery that is genuinely propulsive and inherently bingeable. With a tremendous cast, lovers of cold case crime stories will be drawn into this world of intrigue and quest for the truth. I can’t wait for audiences to unravel the mystery for themselves.”

Head of Screen NSW Kyas Hepworth said:

“Ben Jenkins has created a completely original and unique story, and with the wealth of experience and standout creative talent from the team at HELIUM Pictures, The Killings: Parrish Station promises to be an enthralling watch. The series is expected to create 180 jobs in NSW, and with cameras now rolling, is set to bring significant benefits to regional areas in our state.”

The Killings: Parrish Station is a HELIUM Pictures production for Stan. Major production investment from Screen Australia in association with Stan. Financed with support from Screen NSW’s Made in NSW Fund. Financed in association with, and distributed internationally, by ITV Studios. Post, digital, and visual effects supported by Screen NSW. Developed with the assistance of Screenwest and Screen NSW.

The Stan Original The Killings: Parrish Station is currently in production in NSW and will premiere on Stan in 2026.
