The Assassin on Stan season 2 first look – First look images have been released for the second season of the action-packed Stan Original The Assassin, with Keeley Hawes (Scoop, Miss Austen) and Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor, Bates Motel) returning to the series alongside home-grown Australian talent Shalom Brune-Franklin (Stan Original The Tourist, Baby Reindeer) and Devon Terrell (Stan Original Totally Completely Fine), premiering in 2026, only on Stan.
Produced by award-winning production company Two Brothers Pictures (The Tourist, Fleabag, Boat Story) in association with All3Media International, the six-part drama is written and created by award-winning duo Harry and Jack Williams. Following the massive success of the first season, filming for the brand new season took place on location in Malta.
The second season picks up after Edward (Freddie Highmore) and Julie (Keeley Hawes) have returned from a disastrous trip to Berlin, where they find themselves estranged once again following a mysterious fall-out no one is willing to discuss.
Julie’s days as an assassin are far from behind her as she has slipped back to her old ways, whilst navigating something just as perilous… the dating scene. When Edward’s honeymoon with Kayla (Shalom Brune-Franklin) doesn’t go quite as planned, he must reunite with Julie to take on Spain’s corrupt underworld—but can they survive the job and mend the rift that tore them apart?
An exceptional international ensemble has also been announced to join the cast for the new season, including Arnaud Binard (Emily in Paris), Natalia Tena (Harry Potter franchise, Game of Thrones), Boris Van Severen (Baptiste, Moresnet), Jacqueline Boatswain (After The Flood, Bridgerton), Monic Hendrickx (Penoza, Arcadia), Karl-El Santos (Stags, Yo Adicto), Mehdi Regragui (La Unidad Kabul, Los constructores de la Alhambra), Casimiro Aguza (Sin Lìmites, In From The Cold), Tony Corvillo (Nowhere, Mano de Hierro), Amin Hamada (The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Mallorca Confidencial), and Lolo Herrero (El 47, Return to Las Sabinas).
The second season of The Assassin is a Two Brothers Pictures (an All3Media company) production for Stan in Australia, Prime Video in the UK, and ZDF in Germany, in association with All3Media International.
Award-winning duo Harry and Jack Williams (The Missing, Fleabag, Stan Original The Tourist) serve as Executive Producers, alongside Sarah Hammond (Fleabag, Back to Life), Alex Mercer (Doctor Who, Inside Man), and Daisy Mount for Two Brothers Pictures. Lead stars Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore also executive produce alongside acclaimed director Terry McDonough (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Killing Eve), who directs episodes 1-3. John Griffin serves as producer, with Sarah O’Gorman (The Witcher, The Last Kingdom) directing episodes 4-6. Jessica Mescall serves as casting director, and Halo Pictures are the Maltese service company.
The new season of the Stan Original The Assassin will premiere in late 2026, only on Stan.
