Bump: A Christmas Film on Stan cast attend festive screening – Christmas arrived early tonight! Ahead of its highly-anticipated premiere on Sunday, Stan celebrated the upcoming Stan Original Bump: A Christmas Film with a special event screening held in Sydney.
The event was attended by co-creator and lead actress Claudia Karvan, who was joined by core stars Nathalie Morris, Carlos Sanson Jr., Angus Sampson, Paula Garcia, Ava Cannon, and Christian Byers. They were supported by the extended cast, including Claudia De Giusti, Jeronimo Romero Llorente, Alex Sanson, Sara Marmolejo, Wilbert Olaya, Will Rodriguez, Lilian Alejandra Valverse, Diego Salcedo, Henry Steven Lopez, Salome Ochoa, and Miguel Andrade.
Co-creator Kelsey Munro, and Roadshow Rough Diamond founders Dan Edwards and John Edwards were also in attendance, alongside Nine’s Managing Director of Streaming & Broadcast Amanda Laing, Executive Director of Stan Dan Taylor, Executive Director of Content Acquisitions Cailah Scobie and Executive Producer Donna Chang.
At the screening joined by the cast and crew, most who have worked on Bump the last five years, Claudia Karvan said:
“I feel like wave of emotions, complicated emotions. I know these people aren’t literally my family, but they are family adjacent and to say goodbye to them is quite painful. This film is very festive, convivial, it’s cultural… it’s a party. A lot of music, a lot of dancing – it’s very uplifting and I feel like it is the right note to go out on.”
Set between episodes 9 and 10 of the final series, the film finds the family taking their festive spirit far from home and onto a South American cruise. Their goal?
A warm, cultural Christmas reunion showcasing the beauty and heart of Colombian traditions. Their reality? The family’s best-laid plans quickly unravel in a series of chaotic events. With Angie (Claudia Karvan) alive and well, and Oly (Nathalie Morris) and Santi’s (Carlos Sanson Jr.) second baby, Angelo, just 8-weeks-old, get ready for a wild ride that proves there’s no place like a dysfunctional family for the holidays.
The film brings back the full Bump cast, led by Nathalie Morris (We Were Dangerous), Carlos Sanson Jr. (Ladies in Black), Claudia Karvan (Love My Way, The Secret Life of Us), Angus Sampson (The Lincoln Lawyer, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga), Christian Byers (Stan Originals Year Of and Exposure), and Ava Cannon. The extended Chalmers-Davis family, including Paula Garcia (Thirteen Lives), Oscar Leal (Stan Original Black Snow) Claudia de Giusti, Alex Sanson and Jerónimo Romero Llorente also return, and we welcome new cast members Sara Marmolejo, Wilbert Olaya, Will Rodriguez, and Lilian Alejandra Valverde for the final festive ride.
