Apple TV reveals first look at Slow Horses Season 6 ahead of September return – Apple TV has unveiled the first images from the highly anticipated sixth season of Slow Horses, with Sir Gary Oldman set to return as the irascible MI5 outcast Jackson Lamb this September.
The Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning espionage drama premieres Wednesday, 16 September on Apple TV, with new episodes rolling out weekly until the season finale on 21 October.
Jackson Lamb and the Slow Horses are back
Adapted from Joe Country and Slough House, the sixth and seventh novels in Mick Herron’s acclaimed Slough House series, the new season once again follows the dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents relegated to MI5’s least desirable department.
Led by the brilliant yet notoriously abrasive Jackson Lamb, the Slow Horses are spies whose careers have been derailed by spectacular mistakes, only to find themselves repeatedly caught up in dangerous intelligence operations.
This season, however, the stakes are even higher.
A deadly game of revenge
According to Apple TV, Season Six sees the Slow Horses forced onto the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a “fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge”.
As loyalties are tested and threats emerge from unexpected directions, Lamb and his misfit team must once again rely on instinct, ingenuity and sheer luck to survive.

Sir Gary Oldman reprises his acclaimed role as Jackson Lamb, a performance that has earned him Golden Globe, Emmy, BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.

Since its debut, Slow Horses has become one of Apple’s most critically acclaimed original series.
All five previous seasons hold Certified Fresh ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, with two seasons achieving a rare 100 per cent critics’ score.
Praised for its sharp writing, dark humour and Oldman’s unforgettable central performance, the series has frequently been described as one of the finest espionage dramas currently on television.
The next mission begins this September
Season Six is adapted for television by co-executive producer Gaby Chiappe, with Adam Randall returning to direct.
The series is produced by See-Saw Films, with executive producers Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski and Oldman.
