The Greatest on Prime Video Premieres November 4 – Prime Video has announced that The Greatest, its highly anticipated Muhammad Ali series, will premiere globally on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
The series will launch in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on Prime Video.
The announcement was made during a special first-look presentation on the mainstage at ESSENCE Festival of Culture® over the weekend.
Creator, showrunner and executive producer Ben Watkins joined the event, alongside Jaalen Best, who stars as Cassius Clay and Muhammad Ali.
Cast members Dana Gourrier, Amin Joseph, Kai Parham and Michael Ealy also took part in the presentation.
First-look teaser unveiled
During the event, attendees were given an exclusive preview of The Greatest through a first-look teaser.
The presentation also included a conversation about bringing Muhammad Ali’s life, legacy and cultural impact to the screen.
The series is described as an intimate exploration of Ali’s life as a boxing champion, humanitarian and global icon.
It will go beyond the victories and defeats that made him a legend, both inside and outside the ring.
The first authorised scripted Muhammad Ali series
The Greatest is executive produced by Lonnie Ali, the widow of Muhammad Ali.
As a result, the series becomes the first authorised scripted series about the life of the late boxing icon.
The project is also set to offer unprecedented access to Ali’s story.
Prime Video has positioned the series as a deeper look at the man behind the legend, with a focus on his personal life, public influence and lasting legacy.
Major creative team behind the series
Ben Watkins’ Blue Monday Productions is behind the series, alongside Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society.
Authentic Studios, Roc Nation, Polygram Entertainment and Grace: A Storytelling Company are also involved.
Watkins serves as showrunner and executive producer.
Elizabeth Raposo executive produces for Outlier Society, while Corey Salter, Marc Rosen and Matthew Gross executive produce for Authentic Brand Group.
Additional executive producers include Aiyana White, Jeff Augustin, Owen Shiflett, Roc Nation, Michele Anthony, Boyd Muir and Josh Wakely.
David Blackman serves as co-executive producer for Polygram, while Stefano Agosto represents Outlier Society as Executive Vice President of Television.
