Paramount+ September 2026 highlights – Paramount+ has unveiled its September 2026 highlights for Australia, with new originals, returning favourites, movies, sport-adjacent specials and a sizeable library drop across the month.
The September slate is led by new Paramount+ Original series The Varnell Hill Show, animated video-game adaptation Golden Axe, limited series Route 187, MobLand Season 2 and the next-day return of South Park.
For Australian subscribers, it is a broad month rather than a single-title month, mixing comedy, adult animation, crime drama, reality, Nickelodeon family viewing and franchise films that give Paramount+ several different audience hooks through September.

New and returning series
The Varnell Hill Show premieres on 1 September with Tommy Davidson returning as Varnell Hill. The workplace comedy follows Hill as he tries to keep his late-night show relevant while dealing with executives, a chaotic writers’ room, celebrity guests and family pressure. The cast includes Davidson, Kym Whitley, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Nick Cafero, Chris Williams and Emmanuel Hudson.
Clash of the Thundermans arrives on 3 September, continuing the Nickelodeon family franchise as Chloe’s new power forces the family into another round of superhero chaos. The cast includes Kira Kosarin, Jack Griffo, Ariel Winter, Maya Le Clark, Diego Velazquez, Addison Riecke, Chris Tallman, Rosa Blasi, Dana Snyder, Daniele Gaither and Robyn Bradley.
Golden Axe lands on 16 September as a new animated series based on the classic Sega game. The series reunites Ax Battler, Tyris Flare and Gilius Thunderhead as they try to save Yuria from Death Adder, with Hampton Squib also pulled into the adventure. The voice cast includes Matthew Rhys, Lisa Gilroy, Liam McIntyre, Danny Pudi and Carl Tart.
Route 187 also premieres on 16 September. The limited series follows a tragedy on the city bus route known as Route 187, with journalist Mason James investigating the possibility of a serial killer. The ensemble includes Christopher Livingston, Taiv Lee, Elijah Collins, Lawrence Robinson, Tonia Jackson, Cuyle Carvin, Javen Lewis, Rico Ball, Iroko Anyogu, Deidra Starr, Kerby Collins, Jesse Lewis IV, Rona Dana and Ben Taylor.
MobLand Season 2 begins on 18 September, returning to the Harrigan crime family and fixer Harry Da Souza. Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren lead the cast, with Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, Ophelia Lovibond, Janet McTeer and Toby Jones also featured.
Team Moms: Baseball launches on 24 September, following families at Legendary Prep Academy in Scottsdale as young baseball prospects and their parents chase elite sporting dreams. The unscripted series comes from ITV America, Kim Kardashian Productions and Paramount Sports Entertainment.
Sacrifice Season 2 premieres on 30 September, continuing the drama around Daniella’s world of family power, finance and politics as Beverly faces a mayoral recall and Dom tries to prove his legitimacy.

From 1 September, Paramount+ adds Scream 4, Scream (2022), Scream 6, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, PAW Patrol: The Movie, the Back to the Future trilogy, Jaws, Kick-Ass, Kick-Ass 2, Along Came Polly, American Pie, American Pie 2, American Reunion and American Wedding.
From 14 September, the library expands again with Divergent, Allegiant, Insurgent, The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, Kill Bill: Volume 1, Kill Bill: Volume 2, The Nanny Diaries, Reservoir Dogs and TMNT.
The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards stream live on 27 September, adding a music-event anchor to a month otherwise built around scripted premieres, returning weekly series and library franchises.
