Paramount+ August 2026 highlights include Dalliance, Lioness and The Magic Faraway Tree – Paramount+ has revealed its August 2026 streaming lineup, with Australian original drama Dalliance, Lioness season three and family feature The Magic Faraway Tree leading the month.
The August slate also includes The Challenge: Cutthroat season 42, Average Joe season two, new episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, a major film library refresh and a packed month of live sport.
For Australian subscribers, the headline is Dalliance. The six-part local drama gives Paramount+ a major Australian scripted launch late in the month, while the wider lineup balances originals, reality franchises, films, UFC and football.

Lioness season three
Lioness returns on August 2 with its third season. The Taylor Sheridan espionage drama again stars Zoe Saldana as Joe, with Nicole Kidman and Michael Kelly also returning.
The new season places Joe under pressure as hidden networks, foreign operatives and personal betrayals collide. The war around her starts to reach into every part of her life, forcing her to balance duty with the people closest to her.
The cast includes Zoe Saldana, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hebert, Jonah Wharton, Hannah Love Lanier, Thad Luckinbill, Ian Bohen, Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman.
The Challenge: Cutthroat season 42
The Challenge: Cutthroat season 42 premieres on August 5. The new season is set in Thailand and brings together 24 veteran and newcomer competitors.
The contestants battle for a share of a $500,000 prize in a ruthless team competition. Paramount+ says the format will test whether competitors can cross the finish line together.
Dana White’s Contender Series
Dana White’s Contender Series returns for season 10 on August 11. The weekly live competition series gives UFC hopefuls the chance to earn a contract from Dana White and UFC matchmakers.
The season will run across 10 weekly episodes and forms part of a broader combat sports month on Paramount+.
Average Joe season two
Average Joe returns on August 19, with seasons one and two available on Paramount+. Season two opens with two episodes at launch before continuing weekly.
The new season sends Joe and his crew on a bigger mission after a threat connected to the Russian mob puts his family at risk. The story moves from Pittsburgh to South Africa as the group searches for answers.

Dalliance
Dalliance premieres on August 27 as a six-episode batch drop. The Paramount+ Australian original drama is described as a heart-wrenching, affectionate and sometimes funny relationship drama about life, love and sex in your 60s.
The story begins when former cameraman Billy, played by Hugo Weaving, meets restaurateur Dani, played by Heather Mitchell, on a Sydney Harbour ferry. Their connection is immediate, but Billy is married to Rose, played by Georgie Parker.
When Billy brings Dani home to meet Rose, the decision triggers life-changing events across their friendship group and family. The series explores intimacy, unreliable memories, secrets and the truths people choose to live with.
The cast includes Heather Mitchell, Georgie Parker, Hugo Weaving, David Wenham, Wayne Blair, Catherine McClements, Kate Winter, Carolyn Bock, Russell Dykstra, Kirk Torrance, Ryan Panizza, Tess Bowers, David Roberts and John Doyle.
The Magic Faraway Tree
The Magic Faraway Tree arrives on August 28. The family fantasy feature follows a modern family that relocates to the English countryside, where the children discover a magical tree filled with eccentric characters.
As the children journey to fantastical lands at the top of the tree, the family rediscovers imagination, adventure and the importance of connection.
The cast includes Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy, Nicola Coughlan, Nonso Anozie, Jessica Gunning, Rebecca Ferguson, Jennifer Saunders, Dustin Demri-Burns, Billie Gadsdon, Delilah Bennett-Cardy and Phoenix Laroche.
