Netflix sets 3 December launch for Pride and Prejudice with first-look images – Netflix has confirmed its new six-part Pride and Prejudice will premiere on 3 December, releasing the first official images from Dolly Alderton’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s enduring novel.
The newly released photographs introduce Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as Mr Darcy, alongside Olivia Colman as Mrs Bennet, Rufus Sewell as Mr Bennet, Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet and Daryl McCormack as Mr Bingley.
For Netflix, the series is a major new take on one of English literature’s best-known love stories, arriving as a limited series rather than a feature film. The first-look collection signals the platform’s emphasis on a classic, period-set adaptation with an ensemble cast led by Corrin and Lowden.

The cast also includes Jamie Demetriou as Mr Collins, Louis Partridge as Mr Wickham, Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, Hopey Parish as Mary Bennet and Hollie Avery as Kitty Bennet.
The series follows the five Bennet sisters as wealthy bachelors arrive in their neighbourhood and the family navigates love, status and society’s expectations. Jane falls for the charming Mr Bingley, while Elizabeth clashes with his proud friend Mr Darcy. Unexpected encounters and family scandals force Elizabeth to reassess her feelings and confront what love really means.
Netflix describes the production as a faithful, classic adaptation of Austen’s novel. Alderton, whose previous work includes Everything I Know About Love, writes the series, while Heartstopper director Euros Lyn directs.

Laura Lankester, Will Johnston and Louise Mutter executive produce for Lookout Point, alongside Alderton, Lyn and Corrin. Lisa Osborne produces.
The December date gives Netflix a new prestige period drama for the end-of-year streaming schedule. With a recognisable literary title and a cast that includes Corrin, Lowden, Colman and Sewell, the series will be one to watch when it reaches Australian viewers.
