War debuts on HBO Max this October — HBO has released the first teaser and images for War, its new HBO and Sky Original legal drama starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller.
The eight-episode series debuts Friday, 2 October, only on HBO Max. New episodes will follow weekly on Fridays.
For Australian HBO Max viewers, War adds another major scripted drama to the local line-up. It also features Australian actor Kartanya Maynard in a large ensemble cast.
War On HBO Max
War follows powerful London lawyers as two rival firms clash over a headline-grabbing legal battle.
Season one centres on the explosive divorce of British tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson, played by Dominic West, and international film star Carla Duval, played by Sienna Miller.
Meanwhile, ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren is pulled into the fight. He enters a ruthless world where ambition is currency, betrayal is strategy and winning is everything.
Cast And Creative Team
The cast includes Dominic West as Morgan Henderson and Sienna Miller as Carla Duval.
Phoebe Fox plays Serena Byrne. James McArdle plays Nicholas Taylor, while Archie Renaux plays Jonathan Warren.
Also starring are Nina Sosanya, Pip Torrens, Celia Imrie, Nick Mohammed, Emma Laird, Aran Murphy, Archie Panjabi, Adrian Scarborough, Shaheen Jafargholi and Akiya Henry.
The ensemble also includes Honor Swinton Byrne, Miles Jupp, Kartanya Maynard, Alexandra Mardell, Dylan Murphy, Mark Quartley and Steve Furst.
George Kay created, wrote and executive produced the series. His credits include Lupin and Hijack.
Ben Taylor is the lead director. War is co-produced by New Pictures and Observatory Pictures, in association with Sky and HBO.
Two-Season Order
HBO and Sky have already greenlit War with a two-season order. Season two is now in production.
The next legal battle will star Marisa Tomei, Kelly Macdonald and David Harewood. This time, the lawyers become embroiled in an explosive defamation case.
WAR debuts Friday, 2 October on HBO Max.
