Peter O’Connell named Foxtel Group CEO as Patrick Delany moves to DAZN – Peter O’Connell has been appointed CEO of Foxtel Group, while long-serving Foxtel leader Patrick Delany prepares to relocate to London as DAZN Group’s new chief operating officer.
The appointments take effect immediately. Delany will remain Foxtel Group chairman and will report to DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev in his expanded global role.
The change is significant for Australian pay television and streaming. Foxtel Group’s portfolio includes Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Binge and DAZN Media+, placing the company at the centre of both sport and entertainment viewing in Australia.
O’Connell joined the Foxtel Group board after DAZN’s acquisition of the business in 2025. He will now lead the local group and report to Delany and the Foxtel Group board.
His background spans digital, consumer and board roles. He is chairman of ASX-listed Superloop and Autosports, and was previously founder, CEO and chairman of telco Amaysim. Foxtel also notes that he advised on its recent NRL-rights deal, which extended the Kayo Sports and Foxtel partnership through to the end of 2034.
A new streaming and advertising role
Mark Frain has also been promoted. The former DAZN Media+ CEO becomes CEO Streaming and Advertising, a newly created role that gives him responsibility for the group’s advertising business as well as the Kayo Sports and Binge subscription services.

Delany said O’Connell would support the executive team, provide continuity and focus on new revenue opportunities. He described Frain as a strong commercial leader with deep knowledge of sport, entertainment, audiences and advertising.
Frain has worked with Foxtel Group for 20 years. He said the new job would focus on further growth for Kayo Sports and Binge, while also expanding DAZN Media+ for advertisers and commercial partners.
Delany said he was excited to help lead DAZN’s next phase of global growth. His remit will include global operations, marketing, content, sports rights, revenue, subscriber growth, production and local-country chairmanships, including Australia.
Further executive changes
Foxtel Group also confirmed that Hilary Perchard, the CEO of Kayo Sports, Binge and Foxtel, will return closer to home after six years in Australia. He will take up a consulting role with DAZN in Europe.
Julian Ogrin will leave after eight years to pursue new ventures. The company credited him with helping establish Kayo Sports and Binge, and with overseeing their migration to the DAZN platform earlier this year.
