Fortescue prioritises wellbeing in largest ever deployment of Foxtel Business IQ – Foxtel Group has announced an expanded partnership with Fortescue to deliver the FOXTEL at-home sport and entertainment experience to more than 10,000 employees across 11 remote mining accommodation villages. The partnership marks the biggest deployment of FOXTEL Business iQ ever undertaken.
In a move to boost worker wellbeing, the multi-year agreement will upgrade approximately 11,500 screens across Fortescue villages with Foxtel Business iQ, connecting them to some of the best local and international sport and entertainment content.
The upgrade will provide Fortescue workers access to the full FOXTEL lineup of sport and entertainment channels alongside FOXTEL’s extensive on-demand content library in up to 4K Ultra HD even in Australia’s remotest locations through FOXTEL’s satellite network.
With LIVE and on-demand sport including the cricket, AFL, NRL, F1, golf and Supercars, as well as the world’s best shows like Colin From Accounts, Outlander, and The Other Bennet Sister, employees will have access to entertainment experiences that enhance comfort, connection, and everyday village life.
The agreement further enhances the onsite experience with expanded access to Main Event programming in every accommodation room and common area, giving employees increased shared viewing opportunities for major live events such as UFC and Boxing, a key priority for Fortescue as it continues to invest in strong village communities and quality downtime experiences.
Steve O’Connor, Managing Director of Foxtel Retail, Wholesale, and Commercial at Foxtel Group said:
“FOXTEL and Fortescue have been in partnership for almost a decade and we’ll continue to invest together from the outset of our long term renewal to upgrade all living quarters and common areas across all Fortescue camps with FOXTEL’s full suite of live and streamed content through Business iQ, and develop delivery to staff personal devices through the FOXTEL app while at worksites. Fortescue’s very remote workforce will be the most connected and best entertained mining employees in Australia.”
The rollout will be delivered at speed through an accelerated installation program with a commitment to continue evolving the offering over the long-term agreement, with Foxtel Group’s valued partners ADB and BSA supporting this momentum. ADB drives continuous innovation as FOXTEL Business iQ’s technology development partner through their vuTyme™ platform which is deployed across 400,000+ screens worldwide, while BSA provides trusted installation services nationwide, ensuring reliable delivery at scale.
The agreement follows a growing number of major commercial deals to roll out FOXTEL Business iQ at scale across remote mining accommodation to help workers feel at home, supporting wellbeing and engagement.
Today, more than 60,000 rooms in commercial properties nationwide access sport and entertainment content through the FOXTEL Business iQ, a platform purpose-built for multi-occupancy environments that brings the best of the FOXTEL at-home experience alongside an integrated communications system to entertain, engage, and inform guests, residents, staff and customers.
