For Australian Disney+ subscribers, the announcement confirms one of the platform’s biggest returning comedy titles for the end of the year. The series has remained a key streaming franchise because it combines a murder mystery engine with a cast built around Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez.
Only Murders heads to London
Disney+ has released first-look images from the new season, which is being positioned under the London-set mystery Only Murders in London.
Season six begins after Charles, Oliver and Mabel have once again brought a guilty party to justice. Their next case arrives when Cinda Canning appears at their doorstep and summons them to London to catch her killer.
The trio must then move through a new world of suspicious characters, English eccentricity and murder mystery tradition. The central question is whether they can follow the trail set by the woman whose podcast helped start their own true-crime obsession without meeting the same fate.
Returning cast and guest stars
Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez return as Charles, Oliver and Mabel.
The season also features a major guest cast. Tina Fey returns as Cinda Canning, with Olivia Colman, Meryl Streep, David Tennant, Nicola Coughlan, Martin Freeman and more also appearing.
The move to London gives the series a fresh location while keeping the core structure intact: a mystery, a podcasting trio, a shifting suspect list and a comic tone built around performance, timing and suspicion.
