Moira Hogan Departs BritBox International After Driving Major Growth in Australia – BritBox International has announced the departure of Moira Hogan, Executive Vice President and General Manager for Australia. Her exit marks the end of a five-year tenure in which she helped establish BritBox as a major streaming player in the Australian market.

Launch and Expansion in Australia

Hogan was key to the successful launch of BritBox in Australia. Under her leadership, the service grew quickly and became one of BritBox’s strongest markets. She managed the business’s P&L and growth plan, which resulted in significant subscriber gains and revenue increases.

In addition, she secured high-profile distribution deals with Amazon, Apple and Foxtel. Earlier this year, she also oversaw a major relaunch of the service, ensuring BritBox remained competitive in a crowded streaming landscape.

After the creation of BritBox International, her role expanded. Consequently, she took responsibility for Australia, the Nordics and South Africa, while also contributing to global strategy as part of the Senior Leadership Team.

Hogan Reflects on Her Time at BritBox

Looking back on her departure, Hogan said:

“I’m immensely proud of everything we’ve built together. With the recent shift within Studios to a more domestic focus, I’ve decided this is the right time to seek a new challenge that aligns with my experience in international business leadership and I am excited about what lies ahead.”

She added:

“When I started, I needed to quickly close key platform deals before launch. Since then we’ve grown the team, built meaningful partnerships, expanded the service and achieved a huge lift in revenue. While leaving isn’t easy, my departure is a natural progression. I’m leaving behind a strong, resilient team that will continue to thrive and grow. I’ve loved my time at BritBox. I’ll be their biggest cheerleader, and wish them every success.”

Praise From Industry Leaders

Robert Schildhouse, President BritBox North America and GM BritBox International, praised Hogan’s leadership. Furthermore, he highlighted her impact across multiple regions:

“Moira has delivered exceptional results both locally and internationally, operating with autonomy while building strong, collaborative relationships across our global organisation. Moira has taken bold risks that drove revenue growth and shown commitment to building a culture where everyone can do their best work and share in success. It’s been a pleasure working with Moira on the SLT and I wish her every success.”

Robi Stanton, EVP & General Manager, Global Media & Streaming, ANZ, BBC Studios, also commended her contribution. Moreover, he stressed her influence on the company’s success:

“Moira’s leadership has been central to the success of BritBox in Australia. Her strategic vision and deep understanding of the market were instrumental in building a thriving business. We thank her for her significant contributions and wish her the very best in her next endeavour.”

Looking Ahead

Hogan leaves after leading BritBox through multiple expansion phases. Therefore, her departure marks the end of an era for BritBox in Australia. She has not yet announced her next move, but she confirmed she will pursue new opportunities in international business leadership.
