Nocturne trailer pits Liev Schreiber against Stephen Graham on Apple TV – Apple TV has unveiled the official trailer for Nocturne, a new 10-episode crime drama led by Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham.
The series will premiere on Friday, 30 October with its first two episodes. A new episode will then arrive each Friday through 25 December on Apple TV.
For Australian viewers, Nocturne adds a high-profile psychological thriller to Apple TV’s spring schedule. The series pairs a bestselling crime story with an unusually formidable trio of lead performers, while its weekly rollout leaves the mystery unfolding across the final two months of the year.
What is Nocturne about?
Nocturne is based on The Sandman, the internationally bestselling crime novel by Lars Kepler. Schreiber plays Jonah Lynn, an ex-soldier who has become a homicide detective.
After years working the tough streets of Philadelphia, Jonah moves to a small town in western Pennsylvania in search of a quieter life. That plan collapses when the town and his family come under attack from Jurek Walter, a calculating serial killer played by Graham.
The search for Jurek’s last missing victim forces Jonah to make a dangerous choice. He sends his surrogate daughter, FBI agent Saga Bauer, played by Beetz, directly into Jurek’s path.
The trailer places the conflict between Jonah and Jurek at the centre of the drama. It also points to the personal cost of the investigation as Jonah tries to protect his family while Saga pursues the killer and the missing victim.

Schreiber also serves as an executive producer on the series. He is joined by Beetz and Graham, with the supporting cast including Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr.
Rowan Joffe created Nocturne for television and serves as writer and executive producer. John Hlavin developed the series for television, writes, executive produces and acts as co-showrunner.
Tim Van Patten directs the first two episodes and executive produces. Beetz is also an executive producer through her Sleepy Poppy production company.
The team adapting Lars Kepler’s crime novel
Lars Kepler is the pen name of Swedish authors Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril. Their Joona Linna series now spans 10 novels, with 20 million copies sold in 40 languages across more than 170 territories.
The authors executive produce alongside Øystein Karlsen, David Rysdahl, Dorothy Fortenberry and Niclas Salomonsson. Julie Herrin is co-executive producer.
