New this week on Apple TV: Ted Lasso returns, Sugar finale and more — Apple TV’s weekly highlights are led by the return of Ted Lasso, with season four now streaming.
The new season reunites Jason Sudeikis with Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift. New additions include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely.
For TV Central readers, this is the big Apple TV release of the week. It brings one of the streamer’s most recognisable comedies back into regular weekly circulation, while also giving the platform a strong August anchor alongside returning dramas and new episodes.
In season four, Ted returns to Richmond and takes on a new challenge: coaching a second division women’s football team. The 10-episode season rolls out weekly, with new episodes every Wednesday through 7 October.

Sugar season two reaches its finale on Friday, 7 August. Colin Farrell returns as Los Angeles private detective John Sugar, whose latest case expands into a citywide conspiracy.
The finale episode, titled Like Sugar, sees Sugar attend an event that shakes him to his core.
Lucky continues with episode five, Are We Bad People?. The limited series stars Anya Taylor-Joy as a woman drawn back toward the criminal life she tried to escape.
Trying season five also continues this week. In episode five, Ick, Jason and Nikki each face reality, while Vic struggles under the pressure of his own success.
Silo season three premieres episode six, The Drive, on Friday, 7 August. The episode follows Billings and Hank as they stumble on a new mystery, while Daniel and Helen receive a surprising proposition.
Coming Soon To Apple TV
Las Azules, also known as Women in Blue, returns for season two on Wednesday, 12 August. The new season follows Maria after she is promoted to lieutenant and drawn into an investigation connected to the student massacre of 1968.
The Dynasty: UConn Huskies premieres Friday, 21 August. The three-part documentary series explores the rise and continued dominance of the UConn women’s basketball program.
Stillwater season five also premieres Friday, 21 August. The animated family series follows the gentle lessons shared by Stillwater with siblings Karl, Addy and Michael.
Dark Matter returns for season two on Friday, 28 August, with the first of 10 episodes. The sci-fi series stars Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly and continues the story of Jason and Daniela Dessen.
Mayday, a new Apple Original Film starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh, premieres Friday, 4 September.
