New this week on Apple TV: Lucky premieres and Maximum Pleasure finale – Apple TV has set its weekly highlights, led by the global premiere of Lucky and the finale of Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed.
The update is Apple TV’s weekly viewing guide, not the monthly streaming report. This week’s list also includes fresh episodes of Trying, Silo, Sugar and Cape Fear.
Lucky begins on Apple TV
Lucky is a new limited series starring Anya Taylor-Joy, who also serves as executive producer. It is based on the New York Times bestselling novel and Reese’s Book Club pick by Marissa Stapley.
Taylor-Joy plays a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago. However, she must embrace her darker side one final time as she tries to escape her past.
The ensemble cast also includes Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins Jr. and William Fichtner. The first two episodes of Lucky are now streaming on Apple TV, with new episodes every Wednesday through 19 August.
Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed reaches its finale
Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed also wraps this week. The darkly comedic thriller stars Tatiana Maslany and Jake Johnson.
The series follows newly divorced mum Paula, played by Maslany, as she falls into a dangerous web of blackmail, murder and youth soccer. The final episode, titled Queens, is now streaming on Apple TV.
New episodes this week
The weekly list also brings the second episode of Trying season five. In First Days, Nikki and Jason start new chapters, while Karen makes a shocking discovery.
Silo season three continues with A Dark Web. The episode sees Juliette take control of her recovery process, while Helen faces consequences from her investigation.
Sugar season two adds its fifth episode, Unknowns. Colin Farrell returns as John Sugar, with the new season following another case in Los Angeles.
Cape Fear also continues with its eighth episode. The series stars Javier Bardem, Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson, and is inspired by the earlier Cape Fear films and source novel.
