What’s New On ABC iview In July 2026: Spicks and Specks, Back Roads And More — ABC iview is delivering one of its biggest months of the year, with returning favourites, new Australian dramas, powerful documentaries and plenty of family entertainment arriving throughout July.
Headlining the month are new seasons of Spicks and Specks, Back Roads, Kitchen Cabinet and Hard Quiz, alongside new drama series including Saint-Pierre, Cooper & Fry and Australian mystery Treasure & Dirt.
New Dramas Lead The July Line-Up
The month begins on Thursday, 2 July, with the return of Grand Designs UK Season 24 as Kevin McCloud follows another collection of ambitious and inspiring home-building projects.
Crime drama fans can then dive into Saint-Pierre from Friday, 3 July. The series follows two very different detectives who are forced to work together solving crimes in the French territory of Saint-Pierre.
A day later, Cooper & Fry arrives on ABC iview. Based on Stephen Booth’s bestselling novels, the series follows two mismatched detectives whose uneasy partnership slowly becomes an unlikely friendship.
Australian mystery drama Treasure & Dirt premieres on Sunday, 19 July. Set in a struggling opal town in the Australian desert, the series follows two detectives investigating a brutal murder that uncovers long-buried secrets.
Spicks And Specks And Back Roads Return
One of the month’s biggest highlights is the return of Spicks and Specks on Wednesday, 8 July.
Adam Hills, Myf Warhurst and Alan Brough reunite for another season of musical trivia, comedy and unforgettable moments.
Back Roads also returns for its twelfth season on Thursday, 16 July. Hosted by Lisa Millar and guest presenters, the series once again travels across regional Australia to discover remarkable communities and inspiring stories.
Kitchen Cabinet is back from Tuesday, 21 July, with Annabel Crabb once again inviting Australia’s political figures into their homes for a meal and a candid conversation.
Tom Gleeson also returns with a new season of Hard Quiz on Wednesday, 22 July.
Celebrating Australian Stories And Culture
ABC iview is also shining a spotlight on First Nations stories this month.
Bluey in Yolŋu Matha arrives on Sunday, 5 July, with five episodes of Australia’s beloved animated series translated into the First Nations language of Northeast Arnhem Land.
During NAIDOC Week, That Blackfella Show returns on Wednesday, 8 July. Hosted by Jessica Mauboy, the special features live music, comedy and performances from some of Australia’s leading First Nations artists.
Powerful Documentaries And Factual Programming
One of the month’s most moving releases is When The River Rose, premiering on Tuesday, 14 July.
The documentary examines the devastating impact of the 2022 Lismore floods through the stories of residents whose lives were forever changed.
Nature lovers can also enjoy Epic Adventures with Bertie Gregory from Friday, 10 July, as the National Geographic explorer travels the world capturing extraordinary wildlife moments.
Later in the month, Monty Don’s Rhineland Gardens follows the celebrated gardener on a journey along the River Rhine, exploring some of Europe’s most beautiful landscapes and gardens.
Family Viewing On ABC iview
Younger viewers are also well catered for in July.
Do Not Watch This Show returns with a second season on Friday, 3 July, while Play School celebrates its 60th anniversary with Play School: Party Animals from Monday, 13 July.
