World Surf League Championship Tour live and free tomorrow on 7plus – Seven rides the wave in 2024.

Ride the wave on the Seven Network this week, when the first stop of the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour, the Lexus Pipe Pro, arrives on Hawaiian shores, live and free from tomorrow, at 5.00am AEDT on 7plus.

In a bonus for Aussie surfing fans, a flurry of Australia’s best surf stars will feature across the men’s and women’s events, with the top 10 world rankings dominated by the green and gold.

In the men’s events, world ranked #2 Ethan Ewing, #5 Jack Robinson and #10 Ryan Callinan will lead the Aussie charge, while #3 Tyler Wright, #5 Molly Picklum and world ranked #11 and fan-favourite, Sally Fitzgibbons hit the waves for the women’s events.

For the fifth consecutive year, every WSL Championship Tour event, the Australian Challenger Series and WSL Finals will be broadcast live and free on 7plus, including the iconic Rip Curl Pro at Australia’s spiritual home of surfing, Bells Beach.

The upcoming WSL events broadcast on Seven and 7plus are:

  • Hurley Pro, Sunset Beach, Oahu, Hawaii: 12 February – 22 February (Stop #2, Championship Tour)
  • MEO Rip Curl Pro, Portugal: 6 March – 16 March (Stop #3 Championship Tour)
  • Rip Curl Pro, Bells Beach, Victoria: 26 March – 5 April (Stop #4 Championship Tour)
  • Margaret River Pro, Western Australia: 11 April – 21 April (Stop #5 Championship Tour)
  • SHISEIDO Tahiti Pro, French Polynesia: 22 May – 31 May (Stop #6 Championship Tour)
  • Surf City El Salvador Pro, El Salvador: 6 June – 15 June (Stop #7 Championship Tour)
  • VIVO Rio Pro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: 22 June – 30 June (Stop #8 Championship Tour)
  • Corona Fiji Pro, Fiji: 20 August – 29 August (Stop #9 Championship Tour)
  • WSL Finals, San Clemente, California, United States: 6 September – 14 September

Along with the live events, surf fans will be able to access hours of WSL content on-demand, with WSL event highlight shows and other offerings on 7plus.

Head of Network Sport and Managing Director Seven Melbourne, Lewis Martin, said:

“Surfing is part of the fabric of Australian culture and we’re rapt to extend our partnership with the World Surf League for a fifth straight year.

“With a talent-stacked group of Aussie surfers dominating the world stage, Australian surfing has reached an exciting point, where we could see our most successful Championship Tour ever.

“With more Aussies in the top 10 world rankings than ever before, there’s never been a more exciting time to ride the wave than right now for the 2024 summer of surf – all live and free on Seven and 7plus,” he said.

Live coverage on 7plus will include all stops of the world’s premier surfing competition, the WSL Championship Tour, along with the Australian stops of the Challenger Series, the Rip Curl WSL Finals, while the deal will also see Seven broadcast the Rip Curl WSL Finals on free-to-air television as well as 11 hour-long highlights of Championship Tour events.

Surfing fans can also tune into Seven’s coverage of this year’s BYD Pro, live from URBNSURF Melbourne, on 3 February at 4.30pm AEDT, as more than 120 of the Australia / Oceania region’s best surfers carve it up on a new competition setting.
