Australia’s Women’s Sevens Gold medal quest is off to a bright start after thumping victories over South Africa (34-5) and Great Britain (34-5). Maddison Levi scored an astonishing four tries against the South Africans and backed that up with a double against Team GB. (vision)

Ariarne Titmus and Mollie O’Callaghan have set up a blockbuster final after qualify one-two in the semis of the Women’s 200m Freestyle.

Chloe Covell finished eighth in the Women’s Street Final at just 14 years of age.

Alex de Minaur’s withdrawal from the Men’s Singles draw leaves Matthew Ebden and John Peers as Australia’s best medal chance in Paris. The Aussie Men’s Doubles pairing began their campaign strongly with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Lebanon’s Benjamin Hassan and Hady Habib. Meanwhile, Australia’s Ajla Tomjlanovic went down in straight sets to USA’s Coco Gauff.

INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

Swimming

Hometown hero Leon Marchand took down Michael Phelps’ 16-year-old Olympic Record to win the Men’s 400m Individual Medley Final by more than five seconds and score France’s third Gold medal of the Games.
Torri Huske edged out teammate and world record holder Gretchen Walsh as USA took Gold and Silver in the Women’s 100m Butterfly. Emma McKeon (AUS) finished in sixth in her final individual Olympic event.
Adam Peaty (GBR) missed out on a historic third-straight Men’s 100m Breaststroke Gold, edged out by 0.02s by Italy’s Nicolo Martinenghi for a share of second with Nic Fink (USA).

Artistic Gymnastics

Simone Biles (USA) is on track for Olympic redemption, qualifying for both the individual all-around finals and the finals of each apparatus. A roll call of high profile celebrities including Tom Cruise, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, Nick Jonas and John Legend were watching on. (vision)
