Aussie brings star power to Super Bowl – Aussie brings star power to Super Bowl. Super Bowl LIX, Kendrick Lamar Halftime Show and NFL Armchair Experts live, free and exclusive on Seven and 7plus Sport.
The Seven Network, Australia’s home of sport, is playing host to one of the world’s largest sporting events, as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles for Super Bowl LIX.
Seven’s live, free and exclusive coverage kicks off on Monday 10 February from 9.00am AEDT on 7mate and 7plus Sport, with a special Super Bowl preview from the NFL Armchair Experts.
Then from 10:00am AEDT on Seven and 7plus Sport, former NRL player-turned Eagles star Jordan Mailata could create sporting history by becoming the first Australian to play in a winning Super Bowl team.
The Chiefs have a chance to claim a never-seen-before Super Bowl three-peat in their fifth Super Bowl appearance in six years, while the Eagles could redeem themselves after losing to the Chiefs at Super Bowl LVII.
Off the field, New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome will come alive for the Apple Music Halftime Show as GRAMMY Award-winner Kendrick Lamar – one of the most influential hip-hop artists of his generation — takes to the stage.
Taylor Swift and her star-studded entourage are also expected to turn up and turn heads, supporting Chief’s tight end Travis Kelce.
For a uniquely Australian perspective, Super Bowl XLIII star Ben Graham — the first Australian to ever play in a Super Bowl – will be live from New Orleans alongside Seven’s Cam Luke, from 9.00am AEDT, with NFL Armchair Experts.
Seven’s play-by-play coverage will be led by commentator Kevin Burkhardt, and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, with Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi reporting from the sideline.
Sunrise will have unprecedented access inside Caesars Superdome with 7NEWS US Correspondent Mylee Hogan live from 5.30am AEDT, giving viewers a front seat to all the pre-match colour and hype.
Seven Network Director of Sport, Chris Jones, said:
“Super Bowl LIX promises to be one for the ages. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs can create history by becoming the first team ever winning a third-straight Super Bowl.
“However, the Philadelphia Eagles are out for redemption, and after a record-breaking year, running back Saquon Barkley and quarterback Jalen Hurts will lead the birds into one of the most anticipated Super Bowls in recent times.
“Throw in 22-time GRAMMY winner Kendrick Lamar and special guest SZA, and it’s sure to be an event for the ages,”
– he said.
Fans wanting more will be spoiled for choice from 11.45am AEDT, Friday 7 February on 7mate, when NFL: Road To The Super Bowl will look back on the season that was, before the game’s best players are recognised live, at the NFL Honors, from 1.00pm AEDT.
Then join the NFL Armchair Experts for their prime time special from New Orleans at 11.00pm AEDT, Friday 7 February on 7mate and 7plus Sport. They will be joined by special guest, NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell.
Seven Head of Sport Digital, Kirsty Bradmore, said:
“For the first time, NFL Armchair Experts will bring you all the colour and flavour of a Super Bowl from Radio Row in New Orleans. Including interviews with current NFL players and all the glamour from the NFL Honors red carpet, the boys will check out the buzz on New Orleans’ famous Bourbon Street.”
NFL fans can also re-live all the action of the sport’s most iconic Super Bowl clashes, with the Super Bowl Countdown always-on channel on 7plus.
