Two of the most decorated clubs in European women’s football meet in the final for the fourth time.
OL Lyonnes won the 2019 and 2022 finals between the teams, while Barcelona won the most recent matchup, a 2-0 victory in 2024.
Barcelona is appearing in a record sixth consecutive final and seeking its fourth UEFA Women’s Champions League title.
OL Lyonnes, in the final for a record 12th time, is aiming for its ninth title and first since 2022.
The matchup features some of the sport’s biggest names, including Barcelona’s Alexia Putellas, Aitana Bonmatí, Ewa Pajor and Caroline Graham Hansen, and OL Lyonnes standouts Ada Hegerberg, Wendie Renard and Selma Bacha.
FC Barcelona secured passage to the UEFA Women Champions League Final after a dominant second leg display against Bayern.
Having been held to a 1-1 draw in the Semi Final first leg, FC Barcelona were emphatic with a 4-2 win on home turf.
Alexia Putellas was the hero with a double, whilst Ewa Pajor continued her goal scoring form, scoring FC Barcelona’s fourth. That goal means Pajor is now joint-top of the UEFA Women’s Champions League goalscorers, with nine.
OL Lyonnes overcame a 2-1 defeat in their Semi Final first leg against Arsenal, putting together one of their finest performances all tournament in the second leg.
Jule Bran’s 85th minute goal, secured the 3-1 victory and saw OL Lyonnes prevail 4-3 on aggregate, setting up the UEFA Women’s Champions League Final clash with FC Barcelona.
Bran will enter Sunday’s final full of confidence, having scored goals in both Semi Final legs.
