Every game of the National Hockey League live on ESPN on Disney+ – The 2025-26 National Hockey League season begins Wednesday October 8 and ESPN on Disney+ is the only place to watch every game live in Australia and New Zealand.
Anticipation is high as the puck drops on the new NHL year, as the Florida Panthers strive for three straight Stanley Cup triumphs.
Disney+ is now the home of the National Hockey League with ice hockey fans able to stream every game live across the regular season and the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Stanley Cup Finals.
Fans should note that live game coverage on NHL.TV will no longer be available in Australia and New Zealand.
A selection of weekly games will also be available across the ESPN and ESPN2 networks available via Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Fetch TV and Sky NZ – the most widely distributed sports network across Pay TV and streaming in Australia and New Zealand.
Florida have won back-to-back championships and they will again be a strong favourite to complete the trilogy.
Florida’s continued dominance is not the only piece of history that could be rewritten this National Hockey League season.
Alex Ovechkin claimed Wayne Gretzky’s all-time National Hockey League scoring record last year and Gretzky’s 1016 goals record across the regular season and Stanley Cup playoffs remains within striking range.
Ovechkin is returning from a broken leg and will need to remain fit – but the Capitals are expected to be a playoff contender, giving hope of another legendary moment by the Washington great.
Local fans will be able to keep a close eye on Nathan Walker – the only Australian to ever win a Stanley Cup – with all St Louis Blues matches available on ESPN on Disney+ this season.
