Summer of Cricket takes hold on Seven and 7plus Sport – The Front Bar: Cricket Edition, The Ashes Preview Show and Unfiltered lead The Ashes line-up.
As Australians count down to the first ball of The Ashes, the Seven Network has fans covered with an unbeatable lineup of cricket magazine programs rolling out from tomorrow night on Seven and 7plus Sport.
The blockbuster slate includes two special episodes of The Front Bar: Cricket Edition, a must-watch The Ashes Preview Show and the highly anticipated cricket debut of Unfiltered,featuring Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey.
In exciting news for sport fans, The Front Bar returns with two massive cricket specials at 8.30pm on Wednesday, 19 and 26 November, on Seven and 7plus Sport.
In the lead up to the West Test, Australian cricket legend Steve Waugh will join Mick, Sam and Andy to reflect on some of his greatest moments in the baggy green, share never-before-heard stories from the dressing room, and offer his take on the upcoming summer.
Then in week two, one of history’s best Ashes performers – and now 7Cricket commentator – Stuart Broad will pull up a stool, ready to dish on his fiercest battles with Australia, his new life behind the microphone, and why the rivalry between Australia and England remains the best in world sport.
Straight after tomorrow night’s episode of The Front Bar, Seven’s resident cricket experts Ricky Ponting and Aaron Finch join host James Brayshaw for a special The Ashes Preview Show on Seven and 7plus Sport.
On the eve of what’s shaping as the most dramatic Ashes battle in years, fans can turn to the ultimate cricket brains trust for the must-see snapshot of how the series will unfold.
With Ponting’s unrivalled Ashes experience, Finch’s modern playing perspective and Brayshaw steering the conversation, they will unpack where the opening Test might be won or lost.
For the first time, Seven’s popular interview series Unfiltered will air five cricket-themed episodes weekly from Saturday, 22 November. Following stumps on Day Two of the West Test, Seven’s Hamish McLachlan will sit down with Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey for an unmissable chat about life in the baggy green, his journey from AFL hopeful to Test cricketer, and the career-defining moments that shaped him, including that infamous Jonny Bairstow Ashes stumping.
The remaining four episodes of Unfiltered will feature Ricky Ponting, Meg Lanning, Glenn Maxwell and Jackson Warne.
The ultimate cricket showdown – The Ashes – kicks off at 12.00pm AEDT on Friday, 21 November with the West Test at Optus Stadium, broadcast live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.
