Sam Konstas joins Seven – Rising cricket star recruited as 7Cricket ambassador.
The Seven Network has strengthened its cricket line-up ahead of the blockbuster Big Bash League (BBL) season, today announcing rising star Sam Konstas as its newest 7Cricket ambassador.
In between his playing commitments, Konstas will join Seven’s team to promote the game and engage with Aussie cricket fans across Seven, 7plus Sport and 7Cricket social media accounts during BBL|15 and beyond.
The talented right-handed batsman etched himself into Australian cricket folklore when he debuted for Australia during the 2024 Boxing Day Test against India, where he notched up a scintillating 60 runs – including 50 runs from 52 balls – and recorded the third-fastest half century by an Australian debutant in Test cricket.
His incredible performance wearing the baggy green followed a successful Big Bash debut one week earlier for the talented 19-year-old (now aged 20), scoring the fastest 50 for the Sydney Thunder in BBL history from just 20 deliveries.

Konstas said:
“I’m thrilled to be partnering with Seven, Australia’s Home of Sport. I’m really looking forward to working with the incredible 7Cricket team and being part of some massive cricket moments ahead. With some huge tournaments coming up, there’s no better place to catch all the action.”
As a 7Cricket ambassador, Konstas will feature across Seven’s summer of cricket, connecting with fans through special appearances, content and major match moments.
Seven’s Head of Cricket, Joel Starcevic, said:
“Sam is an exceptional young talent with enormous upside and a great connection with fans. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the Seven family as we build towards another huge Big Bash season.
“BBL|15 promises another season full of fast-paced action, fierce rivalries and fiery finals all headlined by many of our Australian Test stars and huge international names, with every moment live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.”
BBL|15 will start with a bang on Sunday, 14 December, with three prime-time nights leading into the third The Ashes Test match at Adelaide Oval, which starts on Wednesday 17 December.
With 34 prime-time nights of BBL action on 12 days of the season, live and free BBL matches will follow stumps in Australia’s Test series, including two mega days featuring back-to-back BBL clashes on top of a full day’s play on Day One of the Boxing Day and Sydney Tests on Seven and 7plus Sport.
The home and away fixture concludes on Sunday, 18 January, with a huge match at the Gabba between the Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers.
The four-match finals series begins on Tuesday, 20 January, with the all-important Final scheduled for Sunday, 25 January.
The cricket action on Seven continues tonight when cricket’s #1 commentary team heads to Perth to host a blockbuster Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) Knockout clash between the Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars, before Thursday night’s Challenger featuring tonight’s winner and the Sydney Sixers at North Sydney Oval.
