With the 2022 FIFA World CupTM finals series underway, football fans en masse tuned in to SBS early Sunday to see France knock out England in a stunning victory and progress to the semi-finals.
The match drew strong drew numbers across both SBS’s linear and digital channels, with an average audience of 864,000 viewers. Linear accounted for 511,000 viewers and BVOD for 353,000, via SBS On Demand.
In total, the 2022 FIFA World CupTM live matches have achieved a linear reach on the SBS primary channel and SBS Viceland of 6.4 million viewers to date. BVOD reach to date is 4.3 million.
Australian audiences have consumed 46.1 million hours of tournament continent on linear TV and 23.5 million hours on BOVD, totalling a staggering 69.9 million combined hours, cross-platform to 11 December.
