David Warner joins Fox Cricket team for Australia v South Africa Test decider – David Warner will join Brendon Julian, Kerry O’Keeffe and Mark Waugh in the Fox Cricket studio as Australia and South Africa head to Cape Town for the third and deciding Test, starting Tuesday, 27 October.
The series is level heading into the five-day match at Newlands. For Australian viewers, Fox Cricket is carrying every ball live via Kayo Sports and Foxtel, while its expanded studio and on-ground team will cover the selection and batting questions raised by Australia’s defeat in Gqeberha.
Warner joins the Fox Cricket analysis team
Warner, Julian, O’Keeffe and Waugh will preview each day in the studio, including a one-hour lead-in on Tuesday, and return during the lunch breaks to analyse the play. Mark Howard is in South Africa providing on-ground updates and behind-the-scenes coverage for Fox Cricket’s social channels.
Gerard Whateley is also in Cape Town, contributing analysis and a column for Fox Sports. Usman Khawaja, who made his Fox Cricket commentary debut during the second Test, has given his assessment of the Gqeberha defeat and raised a possible selection change for the decider.
Howard has been recording his own journey through South Africa for Fox Cricket’s social accounts, adding access from around the grounds to the live broadcast. Whateley’s Cape Town reporting will complement the studio panel as Australia attempts to respond to the second-Test loss. Khawaja’s observations are analysis from a former player, rather than confirmation of any selection decision by the Australian team.
Fox Cricket executive producer Jamie Lockyer said the tied series had heightened the stakes.
This series has had our viewers on the edge of their seats. With pressure mounting on Australia’s batting order and the series tied, the Cape Town test match is must-watch cricket. The only place for Australian fans to enjoy it is on Fox Cricket.
Jamie Lockyer, Executive Producer of Fox Cricket
When does the third Test coverage begin?
Fox Cricket’s Australian coverage starts at the following times. All times are Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT), which is Sydney and Melbourne time. Tuesday’s earlier start includes the one-hour studio preview; coverage start is not the first-ball time.
| Day | Date | Fox Cricket coverage from |

| Day 2 | Wednesday 28 October | 7.00pm AEDT |

| Day 4 | Friday 30 October | 7.00pm AEDT |

The match is scheduled for 27–31 October at Newlands Cricket Ground. Fox Sports lists first ball at 7.30pm AEDT on the opening day. Play is subject to the conditions and progress of the Test.
Tuesday’s coverage begins at 6.30pm AEDT so viewers can catch the extended preview before play. The Wednesday to Saturday listings are broadcast start times for the remaining scheduled days, each from 7.00pm AEDT. As with any Test, the match may finish before the fifth day, so the later listings depend on how the contest unfolds.
Marnus Labuschagne takes viewers behind the tour
Fox Sports Digital and Kayo Sports have also partnered with Marnus Labuschagne on a five-part Tour Diaries series. The first three episodes follow his departure from Australia, preparations and tour match, and the build-up to the opening Test in Durban. Episodes four and five are still to come, with more of his match-week routine, recovery and reflections.
In Pack & Fly, Labuschagne shares the kit and personal items he takes on tour, along with the airport trip and arrival in South Africa. Preparation & Tour Match follows net sessions, recovery, the team bus and the off-field rhythm before match day. First Test includes a visit to family in Potchefstroom before the Durban opener. The final instalments are set to move through hotel setup, preparation, post-play reflections and packing for the next destination. Release dates for those episodes have not been announced.
