Cummins and Lyon headline Seven’s Summer of Cricket launch in Sydney – Seven’s commentary team launched the Summer of Cricket with 50 local junior cricketers and Australian cricket stars
Cummins and Lyon were joined by Mel McLaughlin, Trent Copeland, Lisa Sthalekar, and BBL and WBBL stars Laura Harris and Daniel Sams (Sydney Thunder) alongside Lachlan Shaw and Lauren Cheatle (Sydney Sixers), with 50 Woolworths Cricket Blast participants for a morning of cricket activities, media interviews, and community engagement.
The event officially marked the countdown to Seven’s Summer of Cricket, which starts this Sunday, 9 November and includes The Ashes, BBL, WBBL and the Women’s International Series v India.
New additions to Seven’s commentary team this summer include David “Bumble” Lloyd and Stuart Broad, who join an elite lineup featuring Ricky Ponting, Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer and Aaron Finch.
7Cricket host and 7NEWS Sydney Sport Anchor, Mel McLaughlin, who will again front Seven’s cricket coverage for the Ashes and BBL 15, said it was the perfect way to kick off the season:
“There’s such a great buzz heading into this summer,”
– McLaughlin said.
“To have Pat, Nathan, Laura, Daniel, Lachlan and Lauren here with the kids this morning was a brilliant way to launch what is tipped to be Seven’s biggest Summer of Cricket yet. We cannot wait to get started.”
