Australia v West Indies on ESPN begins Thursday – Australia will look to secure the Frank Worrell Trophy as the Second Test against the West Indies begins Thursday July 3 live and exclusive on ESPN.
Having won the first Test in Bridgetown, Australia can retain the Frank Worrell Trophy with victory in the Second Test.
The Second Test between the West Indies and Australia begins at 11.45pm AEST Thursday July 3 live and exclusive on ESPN.
Coverage will be available live and exclusive on ESPN and accessible to viewers on Disney+, Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Fetch TV, Sky NZ and Sky Sport Now, as part of the most widely distributed sports network in Australia and New Zealand.
For the Second Test the series heads to Grenada – a venue Australia has never played a Test match.
In fact, no member of the current Australian Test squad has played at the venue, with Australia previously playing a One Day International there in 2008.
The West Indies were emphatic in their last victory in Grenada, a ten-wicket win over England.
Steve Smith is expected to return to the Australian line-up after recovering from a finger injury sustained in the recent World Test Championship Final against South Africa.
Smith will need to complete a fitness test prior to the Test match, but the Australian star will provide some needed steel into the visitors batting lineup.
The West Indies will again look to leaders Roston Chase and Shai Hope to inspire them with the bat and will need the top order of Kraigg Brathwaite, John Campbell, Kaecy Carty and Brandon King.
The home side will celebrate Brathwaite, who will become the 10th West Indies player to play 100 Test matches in the Second Test.
The toss of the coin has proven to be crucial in Grenada, as the three Test victories that have previously occurred at the venue have been won by the side batting second.
Former Australian international Greg Blewett will join West Indian greats Ian Bishop and Daren Ganga for ESPN’s coverage of the Second Test match.
ESPN will deliver comprehensive coverage of the Test match with ball-by-ball coverage and ESPN’s ‘Around The Wicket’ airing following each day’s play.
‘Around The Wicket’ will recap all the highlights from the Caribbean and ensures cricket fans can follow everything in the West Indies vs Australia Test match series.
Throughout Australia’s tour of the Caribbean, ESPN provides cricket fans with extensive live and on-demand coverage, ball-by-ball commentary, highlights and onsite reporting on ESPN.com.au and the ESPN app.
The Second Test between the West Indies and Australia runs from Thursday July 3 to Tuesday July 8.
The final Test match in the West Indies-Australia series moves to Jamaica for a day/night Test and will be live and exclusive to ESPN from July 13 at 4am AEST.
