Seven unveils golden Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games broadcast team – Commentary and hosting team boasts 34 Commonwealth Games medals.
A group of Australia’s most trusted and recognisable sports presenters will lead the Seven Network’s unrivalled host and commentary team as Australia’s Home of the Commonwealth Games unveils another history-making broadcast undertaking on Seven and 7plus Sport.
In just 50 days, Seven’s coverage of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will come to life across 22 exclusive and free, live and replay channels on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport. Leading the coverage is Australia’s most loved and respected sports broadcaster, Bruce McAvaney.
Calling the highly anticipated athletics programme from Glasgow, McAvaney – who recently received the prestigious Commonwealth Games Australia Order of Merit – will be joined at Scotstoun Stadium by three-time Australian Commonwealth Games gold medallist, Tamsyn Manou, 1993 Stawell Gift winner, Jason Richardson and Commonwealth Games medallist, David Culbert.
In swimming, seven-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist Ariarne Titmus joins Seven’s coverage from the pool deck alongside callers Commonwealth Games and Olympic medallist, Giaan Rooney, paralympic swim champion, Annabelle Williams and lead swimming caller Alister Nicholson, bringing unparalleled insight to the action from the heart of Glasgow.
Seven’s exemplary hosting lineup will be led by Sunrise host Matt Shirvington, Emma Freedman, Mel McLaughlin, Jason Richardson, Johanna Griggs, Matt White, Rebecca Maddern, Trent Copeland and Lizzie Jelfs.
Fellow Commonwealth Games medallists Catherine Cox and Kim Green will call all the netball action as our dominant Australian Diamonds look to defend their gold medal-winning Birmingham 2022 campaign, while Kate Bates and Scott McGrory provide the soundtrack to Seven’s track cycling coverage. Clive Adams and Lynsey Clarke round out the team as Seven’s Bowls and Para Bowls callers.

Viewers will wake up to major live events and medal moments each day with Johanna Griggs, 1990 Commonwealth Games medallist, and 7NEWS Sport Presenter, Matt White as they steer Seven’s morning broadcast from 3.30am AEST.
Shortly after the daily early morning coverage, Australia’s #1 breakfast show Sunrise will bring viewers all the latest Glasgow 2026 news and exclusive athlete interviews from 5.30am, with Katie Brown broadcasting live from AUSHQ – home to more than 400 Australian athletes, coaches and officials, as well as their families.
Esteemed broadcaster and 7NEWS Melbourne Chief Sport Presenter, Rebecca Maddern will guide Seven’s afternoon audience through daily highlights featuring exclusive interviews with victorious athletes and their families and friends, every day throughout the Games.
With exclusive access to our golden Australian athletes from the heart of the action, 7NEWS will have viewers covered at 6.00pm every night of the Games, with all the biggest breaking news delivered by accomplished sport reporters Tom Sacre, Kate Massey and Xander McGuire.
Following 7NEWS, two of Australia’s most popular broadcasters – Matt Shirvington and Emma Freedman – will guide, inform and entertain audiences through Seven’s prime time coverage from 7.00pm, bringing viewers all the live medal moments and interviews with our star performers.
Each night Mel McLaughlin and Jason Richardson will be live from the host city with the best of the late-night coverage of the Games, alongside a rotating cast of nightly guests and unrivalled access to the biggest stars of the Games.
Keeping viewers completely up-to-date overnight will be former Australian cricket star and 7Cricket expert, Trent Copeland alongside popular 7Horse Racing analyst, Lizzie Jelfs.
From 10.00pm through to 6.00am daily, Australians can also keep up with the latest from Glasgow 2026 via the Triple M radio network, with Seven’s exclusive commentary broadcast live on air ensuring uninterrupted access to key events as they unfold.

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will bring together over 3,000 athletes from 74 nations, with the largest-ever integrated para-sport program, featuring a streamlined 10-sport program.
Glasgow 2026 will feature 10-days of jam-packed action, consisting of athletics and Para athletics (track and field), swimming and Para swimming, artistic gymnastics, track cycling and Para track cycling, netball, weightlifting and Para powerlifting, boxing, judo, bowls and Para bowls, and 3×3 basketball and 3×3 wheelchair basketball.
More than 200 gold medals will be up for grabs across the 10 days of competition including the biggest track cycling and swim programs ever seen at a Commonwealth Games, with 26 medal events in the velodrome and 56 medal events in the pool.
Australians can tune into 7plus Sport to catch all the action, with up to 22 live and replay channels right at their fingertips. Featuring replays, event minis, trending highlights, exclusive interviews with Aussie athletes and all the best action on demand, viewers will not miss a moment on 7plus.
