Illawarra are chasing just their second NBL championship since entering the competition in 1979.
With the series tied at 2-2, the Illawarra Hawks take home court advantage into Game Five against Melbourne United at the raucous WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong.
ESPN will have live coverage of the NBL Championship Series Game Five from 2.00pm AEDT on Sunday.
The Illawarra Hawks secured a gritty 80-71 win away from home in Melbourne, showing amazing resilience and determination throughout.
Illawarra have been hampered by injuries to star point guard Trey Kell III and key man Sam Froling going down early in the second quarter.
A 22-point haul by Will Hickey and 13-point performance by Lachie Olbrich inspired the Hawks to a crucial victory to keep the Hawks NBL championship ambitions alive and send the series to a decider.
Illawarra finished atop the NBL ladder following the regular season, for the first time in their history, and dream of just a second ever championship since entering the competition in 1979.
Trey Kell III is expected to play some part in Sunday’s decider – a huge inclusion – that will lift the Illawarra offense.
Melbourne United missed the opportunity to claim the NBL Championship on their home court in Game Four, despite the efforts of stars Matthew Dellevadova (17 points) and Chris Goulding (17 points).
United will be buoyed by the fact they have won twice already this series at the WIN Entertainment Centre.
Melbourne were part of one of the most incredible NBL Championship Series last season, losing to the Tasmania JackJumpers in five games.
Redemption for that defeat has fueled United all season and they will be desperate to not let another NBL Championship slip through their fingers.
