Anderson: “I’ve never looked at another offer.”
McLachlan: “You get told about them?”
Anderson: “Nah”.
McLachlan: “Just don’t show them to me?”
Anderson: “Don’t show them”.
Anderson: “Every time a decision has had to be made I’ve just been extremely confident where I wanted to be. I just feel like the opportunity here is gold and it’s where I want to be, it’s where I feel like I belong.”
McLachlan: “Did you feel like that at the start or have you grown into that feeling?”
Anderson: “I think what Dewy did so well is give us that sense of belonging, he sort of got this group together that was losing players all the time. He got a group and really bonded us together and gave us a sense of you should be proud to be a team and you belong together. He started to build a sense of identity, belonging, trust and relationships where we had each other and relied on each other.
“I think he (Stuart Dew) probably doesn’t get enough credit on what he did for the footy club when we really needed it.
“If you brought in another coach then who maybe had other strengths in different areas it might not have worked because the group might not have latched onto it. Dewy brought us all together and Dimma came in and we were just ready to go, we were already such a strong group before Dimma got there and Dimma sort of had this group where he could really benefit off that.”
