AFL on Seven – AFL finals fever kicks off on Seven. Four epic contests headline week one action.

The 2023 AFL finals series roars into action on the Seven Network this weekend with four blockbuster matches, featuring the game’s biggest and best stars over three epic nights.

One of the most open finals series of recent times will get off to a cracking start on Thursday night when minor premiers Collingwood face Melbourne in a qualifying final at the MCG. The live and free coverage of Qualifying Final 1 starts at 7.00pm AEST on Channel 7 and 7mate.

Then, on Friday Night Footy, 2022 Brownlow medallist Patrick Cripps will lead his club to its first final in 10 years, when Carlton takes on the Sydney Swans in a do-or-die elimination final at the MCG from 7.00pm, live and free on Channel 7 and 7mate.

On Saturday, footy fans will enjoy an epic double-header featuring:

  • St Kilda and GWS GIANTS in Elimination Final 2 at the MCG from 2.30pm AEST on Channel 7
  • The in-form Brisbane Lions face a dominant Port Adelaide outfit in Qualifying Final 2 at The Gabba from 7.00pm AEST on Channel 7 and 7mate

The AFL’s #1 commentary team will lead Seven’s finals coverage, with this weekend’s line-up boasting a group of the game’s greatest finals players ever.

It features Brian Taylor, James Brayshaw, Hamish McLachlan, Patrick Dangerfield, Daisy Pearce, Luke Hodge, Luke Darcy, Matthew Richardson, Abbey Holmes, Jude Bolton, Chris Johnson, Cameron Ling, Jobe Watson, Shaun Burgoyne, Jason Bennett and Alister Nicholson.

Seven’s finals festivities kick off tomorrow night when new footy analysis show, Talking Finals, hits the screens of Seven from 10.15pm AEST on Channel 7, 7mate and 7plus.

Hosted by 7AFL’s James Brayshaw, alongside Essendon legend Tim Watson and premiership captains Joel Selwood and Trent Cotchin, the new-look panel show will dive into footy’s biggest talking points each week of the 2023 AFL Finals Series, showing viewers what really matters on the field, from the perspective of the game’s biggest names to taste recent finals success.

Footy finals fever continues on Wednesday night when The Front Bar opens on Channel 7 and 7plus at 9.15pm nationally.

Resident hosts Mick Molloy, Andy Maher and Sam Pang will be met by one of the game’s greatest finals players and coaches, Leigh Matthews, as he stops by the bar ahead of an epic 2023 AFL Finals Series.

After Friday night’s do-or-die final, Adam Cooney, Georgie Parker and Cam Luke will settle in on the Armchair Experts sofa to give their unique take on all the fallout from the match on Channel 7, 7mate and 7plus.

All episodes of Talking Finals, The Front Bar and Armchair Experts will be available for streaming on the AFL Hub on 7plus, along with match previews and reviews, plus
interviews, bonus player access and features on demand.

On top of the AFL finals action, footy fans will be spoiled for choice this weekend, when the AFLW rolls on for Round Two over three epic days on Seven and 7plus.

Seven’s AFLW coverage this week includes:

  • Sydney Swans v Geelong Cats, Saturday 1.00pm AEST live on 7mate and 7plus
  • Collingwood v Fremantle, Sunday 1.00pm AEST live on Channel 7, 7mate and
    7plus
  • Essendon v St Kilda, Sunday 3.00pm AEST live on Channel 7, 7mate and 7plu

Footy fans can stream Seven’s weekly AFL Women’s matches live and on demand on 7plus, while fans in NSW, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia can also watch every game involving teams from their home states live and free on Seven and 7plus across every round of the season.

As we count down to the last Saturday in September, footy fans can also tune in to the 2023 Brownlow Medal and AFL Grand Final, live, free and in HD* from anywhere,
exclusively on 7plus.
