SBS Chill’s Chillest 100 now streaming on SBS On Demand in 2024

SBS Chill’s Chillest 100 now streaming on SBS On Demand in 2024 – The Chillest 100 is back to celebrate the coolest downtempo, lo-fi, lounge and electronic music of the year with an all-day countdown on New Year’s Day.

SBS music station, SBS Chill, is once again counting down the best chill tracks as voted by listeners to give all Australians non-stop music on the 1st of January 2024 now available on SBS On Demand as a FAST channel mixing music and visuals.

Last year the Chillest 100 included an eclectic mix of tracks – from internationally acclaimed artists like Bonobo and Tycho to home-grown talent like Sydney-based DJ Rob Tech and Wollongong-based artist Peter Krohn.

Last year listeners voted for their favourite tunes; with the number one spot claimed by fan-favourite ‘At The River’ by Groove Armada. ‘Teardrop’ by Massive Attack came a close second and ‘Innerbloom’ by Rüfüs Du Sol placed third. Last year’s list can be found here

SBS Chill Music Producer, Rob Miller, said:

“We’re really excited to once again share the best of the best downtempo, lo-fi, lounge and electronic songs with the Chillest 100 and most importantly unveil which tunes have taken the coveted top spots.”

“What’s great about the Chillest 100 is that there’s always a mix of big international artists and favourites like Air and Kinobe, but it’s also a great way to discover new songs and artists you might not come across otherwise.

“SBS Chill is a really unique music station with no ad interruptions. In a world of noise, we provide relaxing, contemporary tunes to listen to as you go about your day, now with more ways to stream on SBS On Demand.”

SBS Chill now has a dedicated FAST channel on SBS On Demand, with calming sceneries and landscapes accompanying your next new favourite song. Since its launch on 30 October, SBS Chill has been played for 1.58 million minutes. Listeners can also listen on DAB+ Radio, the SBS Audio App and Digital TV (channel 306).

British music act, Kinobe, who featured in last year’s top 100 remain hopeful of listeners voting them into the top 20 again.

Julius Waters from British music act Kinobe

“It would be wonderful to have any of Kinobe’s songs included in this year’s list, but if I had to pick just one it would be “Lost in Time” from our new album,” said Julius Waters who forms one half of the duo act.

“I was surprised and delighted to see that our ‘Slip into Something More Comfortable’ made the top 20 last year, considering it was first released over 20 years ago – thank you to everyone who voted for it. Same again this year please!”

The Chillest 100 will be played on SBS Chill on New Year’s Day from 12-midday to 9pm. Tune in via SBS On Demand’s new dedicated FAST channel mixing music with visuals, or listen on DAB+ Radio, the SBS Audio App available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, or Digital TV (channel 306).
