Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 Live & Exclusive on beIN SPORTS

All matches of this year’s Rugby World Cup Sevens will be shown live and exclusive on beIN SPORTS, available via Foxtel, Kayo, Fetch and beIN SPORTS CONNECT. It comes after beIN SPORTS Australia announced in April it had secured the broadcast rights to the tournament as part of a wider Rugby Sevens partnership with World Rugby. The Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 kicks-off on Friday, 9 September in South Africa and will finish up on Monday, 12 September (AEST) with 40 of the best men’s and women’s international teams taking part in the tournament. Australia head to South Africa as reigning Series champions in both the men’s and women’s competitions. Both Aussie teams will have to be at their best if they are to edge defending World Cup champions New Zealand and hosts South Africa who are among those keen to end their respective winning streaks. Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 will get underway live on beIN SPORTS at 4:45pm (AEST) on Friday when ninth seeds Ireland take on Portugal for a chance to play England in the round of 16. Australia (men’s) will take on the winner of Wales and Kenya in their first match in the round of 16 on Saturday at 12:45am (AEST). The women’s tournament will kick-off at 8.11pm (AEST) when top seeds, Australia face Madagascar. USA will then take on Rugby Europe Women’s Sevens champions Poland, before Canada play China and Fiji take on Japan. Like in San Francisco four years ago, both the men’s and women’s tournament will operate an innovative ‘winner-takes-all’ knockout format. The 24 men’s and 16 women’s teams heading to Cape Town have been seeded based on points accrued across the World Rugby Sevens Series 2020 and 2022. Those men’s teams ranked from ninth to 24th will take part in a pre-round of 16, with the winners of those ties going on to play the top eight seeds in the round of 16. Sports fans will be able to watch live and on-demand coverage of every match from Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 as part of a comprehensive content offering that provides unparalleled access to the biggest event in Rugby Sevens. Looking ahead, an exciting new season of the World Rugby Sevens Series is just around the corner. The 2023 edition of the Series kicks-off in Hong Kong on November 4, live and exclusive on beIN SPORTS.
