Seven News was #1 for the night with a reach lead of 311 000 and an average audience lead of 184 000 over 9News. Home and Away was #10 with 1 998 000 (708 000) across 7 and 7two. Seven’s AFL: Thursday Night Football – Pre Match was #27 with 573 000 (260 000) across 7 and 7mate. Seven’s AFL: Thursday Night Football was #3 with 1 781 000 (608 000) across 7 and 7mate. Seven’s AFL: Thursday Night Football – Post Match was #49 with 344 000 (180 000).

A new episode of Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly was #15 with 793 000 (334 000) across 7 and 7mate. A repeat of Crime Investigation Australia was #24 with 625 000 (217 000) across 7 and 7mate.

Nine

9News was #2 for the night. A Current Affair was #5 with 1 412 000 (928 000). Thursday Night NRL Live – Pre Match was #14 with 797 000 (434 000) across 9 and 9Gem. Thursday Night NRL Live was #7 with 1 339 000 (578 000) across 9 and 9Gem. Thursday Night NRL Live – Post Match was #29 with 530 000 (220 000) across 9 and 9Gem.

2024 Roland Garros Day 5 – Night was #30 with 512 000 (63 000) across 9Gem and 9GO! A repeat of RBT was #32 with 495 000 (198 000).

The Project was #18 with 748 000 (315 000). Taskmaster Australia was #16 with 776 000 (368 000). A new episode of Law and Order: SVU was #35 with 482 000 (202 000). An encore of The Cheap Seats was #46 with 368 000 (102 000).

ABC News was #8 for the night. 730 was #9 with 1 068 000 (587 000). Restoration Australia was #12 with 929 000 (517 000). Grand Designs UK was #22 with 693 000 (402 000). A repeat of Antiques Roadshow was #26 with 575 000 (278 000).

How the Networks Analysed their Own Performance

  • Thursday Night NRL Live dominated its timeslot with Total People in Sydney and Brisbane. It also won its timeslot with all key demos in Sydney. It registered a National Total TV Reach of 1.339 million, a Total TV National Audience of 578,000 and a BVOD audience of 62,000 – up 34.8% year-on-year
  • 9News was the No. 1 program and news service with Total People across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It was also the No. 1 program with People 25-54 and People 16-39 across Australia. The combined bulletins achieved a Total TV National Audience of 1.172 million, up 7.6% on the same night last year and a BVOD audience of 84,000, up a massive 52.7% year-on-year. 
  • A Current Affair secured the 7.00pm timeslot with Total People across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It recorded a National Total TV Reach of 1.412 million and a Total TV National Audience of 928,000. On 9Now, its BVOD audience was 67,000 – up 39.6% year-on-year.
  • Tipping Point continued its dominance as the No. 1 afternoon game show across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 1.402 million and a Total TV National Audience of 754,000. Yesterday’s national audience saw a 50.2% lift in the timeslot when compared to the corresponding day last year.

Today was the breakfast program of choice with Total People across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It registered a National Total TV Reach of 834,000 and its BVOD audience of 34,000 up 29.3% on the same morning last year.

Another week, another set of ridiculous tasks for our hapless comedians Anne Edmonds, Jenny Tian, Josh Thomas, Lloyd Langford and Wil Anderson. Last night saw ping pong pandemonium, some rooting around, and a light touch of lemonade. All the while receiving tetchy judgements from terse Taskmaster Tom Gleeson and his assistant, Tom Cashman, aka ‘lesser Tom’.

  • 776,000 total national viewers reached.
  • Up 34% week-on-week in 16 to 39s and 10% in 25 to 54s.
  • #1 entertainment show in 16 to 39s.
  • Live stream audience up 34% on 2023 average.
  • Season-to-date: Biggest total audiences ever, up 10% on 2023 average.
  • Season-to-date: Biggest BVOD audiences ever, up 19% on 2023 average.

Also, last night, 10 News First was up 13% week-on-week.

Deal Or No Deal continued to lift 10’s timeslot by 24% year-on-year.

10 Peach was up 9% week-on-week.

Last week, with7 day viewing Taskmaster Australia (23 May).

  • 1.1 total national viewers reached.
  • #1 entertainment show in 25 to 54s and 16 to 39s.
