Premier League Title Race Enters Final Straight – Live On Optus Sport

Premier League Title Race Enters Final Straight – Live On Optus Sport – The eyes of the football world will be on Anfield this weekend as the Premier League’s top two teams – Liverpool and Manchester City – lock horns in what is becoming one of the greatest title races in history.

The titanic clash is shaping up to be one of the most important matches in deciding where the Premier League will end up, as Liverpool – who currently sit top of the table – aim to dethrone the defending champions.

And once again, Optus Sport will be bringing all the action live to subscribers – the game will kick-off on Monday, March 11, at 2:45am (AEDT).

With many close encounters over the last few years, the profile of this match has continued to rise and grab worldwide attention. So much so, it now draws comparison to the famous El Clasico match between Barcelona and Real Madrid, arguably the most famous match in football.

Speaking on the Optus Sport Football Podcast, Spanish football expert Phil Kitromilides revealed just how attractive the fixture has become outside of England.

“The Spanish press call Liverpool v Manchester City the new Clasico, which is a really big thing for them to be saying because obviously the Clasico is still the biggest fixture in world football, but Liverpool against Manchester City, that’s the kind of pull that it has and how attractive this fixture is around the world,” Phil said.

The match will also feature some of the biggest names in world football, including Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Erling Haaland, and Kevin De Bruyne.

Howard Rees, Head of Optus Sport, said,

“You can be sure there will be fireworks this weekend between Liverpool and Manchester City.

“This is a title race like no other, with Arsenal very much in the mix as well, with 11 games to go.

“Neither of the three teams look like dropping many points between now and the end of the season, so this really will be a title race decided by fine margins and this clash could very well go a long way to deciding where the Premier League trophy ends up at the end of the season.”
