Podcast | Shane Crawford (Dancing with the Stars) – Today, I’m thrilled to bring you a conversation with one of AFL’s most iconic players, Shane Crawford. With an impressive 305 games under his belt over a stellar 16-year career at the Hawthorn Football Club, Shane was a key player in the 2008 Premiership team, a four-time All-Australian, and represented Australia in three International Rules series.

But Shane’s talents don’t stop on the field. He’s also made his mark as a TV presenter on shows like Kids WB, Postcards, and Australian Ninja Warrior. And now, he’s taken on a new challenge: the dance floor, competing in Dancing with the Stars.

In this episode, Shane chats about:
  • His confidence level going into Dancing with the Stars (DWTS)
  • How end-of-year revue shows helped his DWTS performance
  • The fun but technical challenge of the Samba, performing ‘La Vida Loca’
  • The vulnerability of tackling the serious Viennese Waltz
  • Going out on a high note after a fantastic Quick Step
  • Forming close bonds with the DWTS cast
  • The enormity of being part of Hawthorn Football Club’s rich history
  • His decision to retire after the Grand Final
  • What’s next on the horizon for him

Dancing with the Stars

A cast too good to be true. You won’t be able to take your eyes off Dancing With The Stars.

The fresh aroma of spray tans, the sparkle of thousands of sequins and the rhythmic beat of new ballroom shoes can only signify one thing: 12 new celebrities are preparing to showcase their magical moves on the new season of Dancing With The Stars, premiering 7.00pm Sunday, 7 July on Channel 7 and 7plus.

This season, Sonia Kruger is joined by new co-host, Dr Chris Brown, as a fresh lineup of stars step onto the stage, giving their all to support their chosen charities.

Following weeks of rigorous rehearsals, they’ll face the discerning eyes of judges Craig Revel Horwood, Helen Richey, Sharna Burgess and Mark Wilson, as they strive for dancefloor supremacy.

Who will win the coveted Dancing With The Stars mirror ball trophy?

The 2024 Dancing With The Stars line-up is:

Swapping his footy boots for a Cuban heel, will Shane be able score the number one position on the
leader board?
