Total People Network Share – Free-To-Air
| Rank | Network | Share |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Seven | 33.9% |
| 2 | Nine | 27.7% |
| 3 | ABC | 18.1% |
| 4 | 10 | 11.9% |
| 5 | SBS | 8.4% |
Channel 7 won four of the seven nights and finished 6.2 points ahead of Nine. The week was bookended by close contests, but two major AFL events created the decisive separation: the Brownlow Medal powered a 42.7% Monday share, then the AFL Grand Final lifted Seven to 39.2% on Saturday. The Grand Final between Fremantle and Brisbane reached 6.501 million nationally and averaged 4.516 million, while the presentations reached 5.996 million.
Nine won Sunday, Tuesday and Friday. The Block led Sunday and Tuesday, while Friday’s NRL preliminary final reached 2.417 million. Channel 7 also edged Nine on Wednesday, helped by 7NEWS, Home and Away and The 1% Club UK, before The Front Bar supported a clear Thursday win. ABC’s strongest share came on Grand Final Saturday, with ABC News and its evening line-up helping it reach 20.3%. 10’s best Total People share came on Tuesday, while SBS peaked on Thursday.
People 25 to 54 – Commercial Share
| Rank | Network | Share |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Seven | 42.9% |
| 2 | Nine | 39.2% |
| 3 | 10 | 17.9% |
Nine led People 25 to 54 on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, but Channel 7’s three wins were much larger. The Brownlow delivered 56.0% on Monday, The Front Bar helped Seven to 45.8% on Thursday and the AFL Grand Final drove a 59.2% Saturday share.
The Grand Final was the defining result, while Monday’s Brownlow added another substantial advantage. Nine remained competitive through The Block and Friday’s NRL final, but those four nightly wins could not overcome Channel 7’s two major AFL peaks.
People 16 to 39 – Commercial Share
| Rank | Network | Share |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Seven | 46.2% |
| 2 | Nine | 38.0% |
| 3 | 10 | 15.8% |
Channel 7’s advantage was widest among People 16 to 39. Nine again led four nights, but Seven reached 65.3% with the Brownlow on Monday, 49.0% on Thursday and 62.3% on Grand Final Saturday. The size of those victories produced an 8.2-point weekly margin.
The Block gave Nine the stronger Sunday-to-Wednesday run, and the NRL delivered 54.4% on Friday. Channel 7’s AFL events, supported by its Thursday line-up, nevertheless made the weekly outcome emphatic.
Grocery Shoppers 18+ – Commercial Share
| Rank | Network | Share |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Seven | 46.0% |
| 2 | Nine | 37.7% |
| 3 | 10 | 16.3% |
Grocery Shoppers 18+ began with two exceptionally close contests: Nine led Sunday by 0.2 points and Tuesday by 0.3. Channel 7 won Monday with 55.0%, moved ahead again on Wednesday and Thursday, then closed the week with 54.6% on AFL Grand Final Saturday. Nine’s other clear win came with the NRL on Friday.
The early-week strength of 7NEWS, Home and Away, the Brownlow and The Front Bar gave Channel 7 a solid base. The Grand Final then turned that lead into an 8.3-point weekly victory.
