Turn to Sky News in 2026 – In 2026 Sky News will bring more of the news that matters, exclusive insights, bold opinion and special programming to audiences across the country.

Starting Monday 19 January, Sky News’ programming schedule begins with its top-rating heavyweight talent line-up returning to screens, plus a suite of new programs, digital originals and documentaries via the network’s broadcast and digital platforms.

Sky News has also expanded its local and global reporting presence, strengthening its commitment to deliver trusted news and critical analysis to its growing multiplatform audience across Australia and around the world, and this year promises to deliver the nation’s sharpest coverage of major news events including the South Australia and Victoria State Elections, Midterm Elections in the United States and the FIFA World Cup.

New Bold Opinion in 2026

Each Friday, Caleb Bond will present The Bond Report at 5pm, offering a lively and news-driven opinion program that blends the week’s essential stories with the clarity and commentary audiences have come to expect.

Friday nights will also see the debut of Opinionated, a fast-paced half-hour program hosted by Danica De Giorgio at 8pm. Each episode will feature specially commissioned editorials from leading contributors across Australia and around the globe.

Danica De Giorgio moves from Fridays into the Sunday 7pm timeslot, and will be followed by a new 8pm program, The Macpherson Angle. Hosted by James Macpherson, the new weekly program will bring added depth to the issues that dominate public debate.

Later this year, James Macpherson will also host a weekly news quiz program Quizzicalwhich will tackle the big stories with humour and banter.

These new programs will join Sky News’ top-rating nightly primetime line-up featuring The Kenny Report, Credlin, The Bolt Report, Sharri, Paul Murray Live, The Late Debate and The Rita Panahi Show.

New Multiplatform Content and Digital Original Programming

New in 2026, Sky News Pulse will measure the country’s mood in a polling partnership with YouGov. Released fortnightly on Wednesdays across online and broadcast platforms, Sky News Chief Election Analyst Tom Connell will dissect the Sky News Pulse data which will provide Australians with a razor-sharp read of the national mood, tracking attitudes towards the government’s approach to cost-of-living, immigration, housing, energy, and the biggest topics dominating the day-to-day news cycle.

Plus, Sky News is strengthening its digital portfolio with the most extensive expansion of Digital Originals to date.

In 2026 the global sensation Power Hour extends from three episodes per week to four, with the addition of Power Hour Deep Dive to the Sky News Digital Originals slate. As one of the only shows published by an Australian brand to break through in YouTube’s Top 100 podcasts in the United States, Power Hour Deep Dive takes its fans around the world out of the fast-paced news cycle with host Gabriella Power and a rotating cast of fan favourite co-hosts to dive deep into the biggest stories generating global conversations.

Danica De Giorgio hits the world stage with digital-only program Danica Goes Global each Monday. This fresh and fearless format gives viewers worldwide the Australian take on global flashpoints and viral moments that shape the world’s news cycle.

Andrew Bolt has spent decades driving debate, now his son James takes to the stage with a sharp take of his own on the world’s trending topics. Informed and unafraid, The James Bolt Show brings the next generation into the national conversation. This new Sky News Digital Originals production will be available weekly from February.

Expanded News Reporting Appointments

To complement its expanded programming, Sky News is enhancing its reporting footprint across Australia and the world.

Jonathan Lea takes on the role of National Affairs Correspondent, driving in-depth reporting on the economic, political and social issues shaping everyday life for Australian families.

Jaynie Seal has been appointed Regional Correspondent and will focus on the concerns of regional communities, ensuring the challenges and triumphs of regional Australia receive the national attention they deserve. In this role Jaynie will present a special investigative series, State of Health, examining the deepening crisis in regional healthcare. The first episode airing in February will take viewers to the Queensland town of Chinchilla, exploring the pressures, shortages and systemic issues confronting rural communities. Jaynie continues as host of Weekend NewsDay.

Bridie Witton joins the network as New Zealand Correspondent, based out of Wellington, and former Senior Correspondent and CNBC Anchor Matt Taylor has been appointed to the role of Senior Sydney Reporter.

The network has expanded its presence in the United States, with Annelise Nielsen moving into a newly created role of Washington Analyst and Jonathan Kearsley appointed Washington Correspondent. He joins Sky News from the Nine Network. This strengthens Sky News’ coverage of what promises to be a pivotal year in American politics ahead of the upcoming 2026 Midterm Elections.

Sky News Weather has expanded its dynamic team of seasoned meteorologists with Tamsin Green joining Australia’s largest on-air team of weather experts Rob Sharpe, Alison Osborne and Marina Neuman to bring accuracy and personality to every forecast.

Known for delivering reliable updates and breaking down complex weather patterns, the Sky News Weather channel has strengthened its presenter line-up with Stevie Jacobs joining Nikolina Kharoufeh. His experience, energy, and familiar on-screen presence adds a fresh spark to the team, making Sky News Weather an even more trusted and engaging source for up-to-the-minute weather information.

The experienced weather reporting team will feature across the network’s live breaking news coverage and slate of national and political affairs programs including First Edition, AM Agenda, NewsDay, Afternoon Agenda, Sunday Agenda and Politics Now.
